For survey the GPR technical equipment was used (“Logis” Ltd, Ramenskoe), that is the antenna assembly with the central frequency radiation of 1700 MHz and the maximum sounding depth up to 0,8 m. The works were held in October 2012 on wet road surface under damp weather conditions.

The experience of automatic detection of cavity according to GPR data in building structures usin... more The experience of automatic detection of cavity according to GPR data in building structures using digital signal and image processing techniques is given. Efficiency and prospects of practical application of automation in processing of GPR data for detection of dangerous man-made processes taking place in structures of transport structures, such as highways and railways, are assessed.

Separate GPR profiles contain useful information about the internal structure and condition of pavement structures in certain sections of the road. At the same time, in order to effectively search for weakened zones of road structures and explain their causes, it is also necessary to analyze the relief, situation, and hydrogeological features of the area. Spatial analysis allows you to combine different models of the existing reality in one software window. For example, to see the connection between the places of subsidence of pavement layers, the formation of voids or decompression in the layers of the base of the pavement with the location of underground structures (utilities, underpasses, etc.). The article contains a description of the methodology of spatial analysis and the results obtained on the example of a GPR survey of roads in Moscow.

Research paper thumbnail of PROSPECTS FOR INFORMATION MODELLING OF ROAD PAVEMENTS

Since 1 January, 2021, the technology of information modelling is used in the Russian Federation ... more Since 1 January, 2021, the technology of information modelling is used in the Russian Federation to draft the design documents for transport infrastructure facilities including motor roads if their reconstruction is funded from the federal budget and extra-budgetary sources.
The requirements for the rules of development and maintenance of
information models are specified by the Decision No. 1431 of the Government of the Russian Federation, dated 15 September, 2020. Thus, the construction industry and, particularly, road industry demonstrates active transition to the stage of industrial application of information modelling technologies.
The article contains the results of researches in the area of application of
georadar surveys and mobile laser scanning for information modelling of motor road pavements. The experience of 3D modelling of road pavements available in Russia and abroad is analysed. The key provisions of the procedure for the development of information models of road pavements and for their attributive filling are described, and proposals are given for practical application of these models.
The importance of road pavement preservation tasks is noted, and the
implementation is proposed for large-scale approach to the information modelling of road pavements; this implementation includes, as a stage, the development of the national industry-specific regulatory document.

Describes the possibilities of spatial modeling of GPR data using CAD and GIS. Contains information on the practical value of the results of GPR data modeling.
