Materials and methods: twelve adult New Zealand male rabbits weighing (900gm-1250mg) and almost the same in age and circumstance were chosen in this study. All animals with pathological gingival enlargement were clinically examined by using a periodontal probe and measuring their gingival sulcus depth. Then, six of them were slaughtered and considered the control group and the other six were experimental group, and at the end of study a specimens of oral mucosa were taken for immunohistochemical examinations. Results: Clinical examination shows there is no reduction in gingival enlargement in the control group while this enlargement decreased in the experimental group after use of azithromycin. Immunohistochemical analysis shows mild matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP1) expression in the control group and moderate to strong MMP1 expression in sub-epithelial of gingiva in the experimental group. Conclusion: This study establishes that azithromycin is clinically and immunohistochemically effective in the reduction of pathological gingival enlargement.

In the present study we would like to test the hypothesis of healing effects of rosuvastatin on induced bone lesion model in a rabbits. To do so, a bone injury rabbit model were used and the rabbit was administered rosuvastatin daily and sacrificed continuously for histopathology at day 7, day 14, and day 21. Results indicated that rosuvastatin induced beneficial healing process on the bone injury. Conclusion: bone healing could be a target for healing using rosuvastatin.

Materials and methods: The study was carried out in the college of dentistry /university of Mosul on twelve white local male Rabbits with gingival enlargement weights between (900 g±1.250g). six rabbits considered a control group and the other six rabbits considered a treated group which taking 15 mg orally folic acid once daily for about 14 days then depth of gingival sulcus(gingival pocket) evaluated clinically by a periodontal probe and euthaniused for histological examination. Result: Clinically: after 14 days of drug administration, there is a high clinical difference between two group (mean +-SD), control group have (3-5mm) of gingival enlargement and the experimental group have (1-3 mm) of gingival enlargement. The Histological finding show significant differences in the form of gingival sulcus depth(gingival pocket) and inflammatory cell infiltration and connective tissue in the control group and experimental group. Conclusion: the effect of oral administration of folic acid have higher evaluation on reducing the drug induced gingival enlargement in rabbit

Materials and Methods: Experimental study were done on 16 New Zealand rabbits. Two types of wound incision were made in buccal mucosa of each group, each incision was made by using stainless steel scalpel blade NO.15 and other was made by Epic X diode laser. Two rabbits sacrificed of each group at 1 st ,3 rd ,7 th and 14 th days after procedures. Results: The histological findings of this study revealed that there was a significant difference for inflammatory cell infiltration in 1 st ,3 rd , 7 th days in two groups, while there was no significant difference at 14 th days period. Granulation tissue formation appeared higher in diode group , while scalpel showed less amount of granulation tissue formation. In re-epithelialization of present study at 1 st day all section showed nil scores, re-epithelization of oral mucosa appeared significant difference after three days ,and significant difference also at 7 th day between diode and scalpel , no significance differences at 14 days in two groups. Conclusions: Diode laser has many advantages for use particularly in oral surgery , due to a better hemostatic ability, but more tissue damage occurs and more inflammatory cell infiltration in site of incision if compared with group that used of surgical scalpel blade.

Materials and Methods : Sixteen New Zealand rabbits were used as experimental animals. The animals were divided into two groups: group I and group II, each group consisted of 8 rabbits. In group I; stainless steel scalpel blade NO.15 was used for making the incision, in group II Er, Cr: YSGG laser was used for making the incision. Two rabbits were sacrificed from each group at the 1st ,3rd ,7th and 14th days after procedures. On the day of sacrificial blood was collected from each rabbit for serum and serological analysis to determine serum level of TNF-α. Results : 1:Histological findings of this study revealed that there was a significant difference in inflammatory cells infiltration at 1st day between the two groups, while there was no significant difference at 3rd , 7th and 14th day periods. Granulation tissue formation appeared higher in erbium group, while scalpel blade incision showed less amount of granulation tissue formation. In reepithelialization at 1st day all section shows nil score in both groups, at 3rd day re-epithelization appeared significant difference, and no significance difference at 7th and 14th days between erbium and scalpel blade. 2: Serological findings of this study shows that TNF-α level in serum have no significant differences between two groups at different time periods. Conclusions : Εr,Сr:ҮЅGG laser has numerous benefits for use particularly in oral surgery , due to low inflammatory reaction and less ulceration and smallest damage of the oral mucosal tissue, while more inflammatory cell infiltration occurs in comparison with group that used surgical scalpel blade.

While it is generally well-tolerated, some studies have suggested that it may affect bone healing, suggesting that lisinopril treatment was associated with an increase in the CD34 bone healing marker in patients with tibial fractures. CD34 is a protein that is involved in the formation of new blood vessels and has been shown to play a role in bone healing. Methods: The study used 24 rabbits with artificially induced tibial bone fracture divided into 4 groups (6 rabbits each), the control group treated with distilled water and 3 groups treated with lisinopril. Each group were sacrificed for immunohistochemical study on 3 timepoints at day 7, 14, and 21. Results: Indicated that the lisinopril group had significantly higher levels of CD34 than the control group. Conclusion: While the results of this study suggest that lisinopril may have a positive effect on bone healing, more research is needed to confirm these findings and to determine the mechanisms by which lisinopril may affect bone healing. It is also important to note that lisinopril may have other potential side effects, and patients should discuss any concerns with their healthcare provider.

Materials and methods: twenty eight healthy adult New Zealand male rabbits weighing (900gm-1250gm), all of them with same age and circumstances were chosen. All animals were randomly assigned into two groups; control group: fourteen rabbits received only cyclosporine 20mg/kg/day orally for 17 days. Experimental group: fourteen rabbits received cyclosporine 20mg/kg/day orally and Azithromycin62.5mg/kg/day for 17 days. Results: statistical analysis show significant difference between control and experimental groups. Clinical examination show there is gingival enlargement in control group due to cyclosporine administration while this enlargement decreased in experimental group after use of azithromycin. Immunohistochemical analysis show mild positive reaction of matrix metalloproteinase-1expression (MMP-1) in control group and strong positive reaction of MMP-1 expression in experimental group. Conclusion: Azithromycin is clinically successful in reducing cyclosporine-induced gingival enlargement.
