With increasing age, the size of the dental pulp cavity shrinks as a result of secondary dentin deposits. This could be used as a measure of age. Aside from morphological approaches, radiological approaches might be used to analyze this regression shift. Kvaal's method calculates the chronological age of individuals based on the age-pulp size relationship on periapical dental radiographs. Purpose This study aims to use Kvaal's method to estimate the chronological age of patients using digital panoramic radiographs and verify the validity of regression equations proposed by Kvaal et al. in the Saudi population. Material and methods A total of 74 digital orthopantomograms were randomly selected from Qassim University Dental Clinic in Saudi Arabia, ranging in age from 18 to 64 years (mean age 32 years). The radiographs were taken between 2018 and 2021 according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results When the Kvaal technique was applied to Saudi members, there was no statistically significant discrepancy between the estimated and chronological ages. The coefficient of determination R2 was highest when three mandibular teeth were evaluated together (0.752). Conclusion The most accurate indicator for age assessment was "M" (mean worth, all things considered) and "W L" (contrast among "Width" and "Length").

This was a cross-sectional study based on clinical examination. It was conducted at private and public schools of Riyadh. 400 schoolchildren aged 8-11 years old were selected. Traumatic Dental Injury was recorded using epidemiologic classification adopted by (WHO) 1992 and modified by Andreasen et al. The data obtained were compiled systematically and then statistically analyzed; study revealed the prevalence of Traumatic Dental Injury (TDI) in primary schools of Riyadh was 13.6%, also showed higher prevalence in public schools than in private schools (7.3% vs 6.3%), 9 year old children had the highest prevalence of TDI (6.04%), followed by 8 years old children (5.8%). Maxilla scored higher prevalence of TDI than mandible (10.8 % vs 0.76%) and both Central & Lateral incisor teeth are the most commonly affected anterior teeth. Enamel fractur...

To identify the frequency and types of ear diseases among the elderly attending Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz bin Musa'ed Al Saud hospital, Arar city, in the Northern Province of KSA, and factors associated with ear infections among them. This cross-sectional hospital based study conducted from December 2016 through May 2017 included 138 elderly participants. A questionnaire was designed for collecting data about socio-demographic variables, the frequency and types of ear diseases among participants, and factors associated with ear infections among them. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 15, using descriptive statistics and Chi-Square test. Findings showed that 49.3% of the participants were suffering from ear disease. Hearing impairment was detected in 37% of the elderly people studied. In addition, 9.4% and 2.9 % of the p...
