This study examines lecturers' attitude and utilisation of Google classroom learning platform for... more This study examines lecturers' attitude and utilisation of Google classroom learning platform for instruction in tertiary institutions in Ondo State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used in the study. Two research questions and one research hypothesis were answered and tested in the study respetively. The sample population consisted of 300 lectures randomly selected from the three universities across the three senatorial districts (Ondo north, central and south). 100 participants were randomly selected from each of the selected public universities, making the total of 300 participants. The instrument for this study was researcher' self-developed questionnaire titled Lecturers' Attitude and Utilisation of Google Classroom Learning Platform Questionnaire (LAUGCLPQ). The instrument was validated by two experts. Reliability coefficient of 0.84 was obtained using Kuder-Richardson (KR21) technique. Research questions and research hypotheses were answered and tested using mean scores and t-test scores statistical tools respectively. The findings of the study showed that lecturers' attitude towards the use of Google Classroom in tertiary institutions in Ondo State was negative. It was also revealed that the level of utilization of Google Classroom by the lecturers was very low. The results also shown that there was no significant difference between the attitude of male and female lecturers towards the use of Google Classroom for instructions (df = 298; t = 2.963; p > 0.05). It was further revealed in the study that there was a significant difference between male and female lecturers in the level of utilization of Google Classroom learning platform in tertiary institutions in Ondo State (df = 298; t =-5.125; p < 0.05). The study therefore recommends that managements of tertiary institutions should encourage both male and female lecturers to use Google Classroom learning platform in their instructional deliveries by providing all the necessary ICT infrastructures in their institutions. Also Worships and training programmes should be organised for both lecturers and students to acquire necessary skills to use Google Classroom learning platform for instructions.

The sample of the study consisted of 300 lecturers randomly selected from three colleges of education in South West, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The instrument used in the study was a self-developed questionnaire titled Lecturers' Perception on the Usefulness of Schoology Web Application Questionnaire (LPUSWAQ). The instrument was validated and the reliability coefficient of 0.87 was obtained. Two research questions and one research hypothesis were generated for the study. The findings revealed amongst others that; lecturers in college of education have positive perception on the usefulness of schoology web application for instruction with the mean rating of 2.82, using 2.45 as the decision rule. It was also revealed in the study that lecturers have positive perception on the ease of use of schoology web application for instruction with the mean rating of 2.78, using 2.45 as the decision rule. The study therefore recommends that schoology web application should be integrated into the teaching and learning in Colleges of Education in Nigeria. It was also recommended that college of education lecturers should further be encouraged to use schoology web application for instructions.

The paper also reviewed the need for the effective application of ICT as the best tool for libraries to use in assisting educational researches and students in this age of information explosion, in ensuring effective services. The paper also among other things discusses various ICT resources that can be used for effective library operations and services. Also the paper highlighted benefits and challenges of integrating ICT to library operations. The paper concluded by discussing possible solutions to various challenges to successful integration of ICT to library operations for effective services.

A self-developed questionnaire titled “Instructional Package Assessment Questionnaire” was used to collect necessary information from the teachers and data were analysed using frequency count, mean, standard deviation, t-test and univariate Analysis of Variance. The study investigated the use of social media as a learning tool among university students with ... more The study investigated the use of social media as a learning tool among university students with gender and school ownership as moderator variables. The study involved 259 university students selected from three universities consisting of federal, state and private universities in Osun State, Nigeria. The instrument used for data collection is a self-developed instrument titled ‘University Students’ Use of Social Media’. Three research questions were answered in the study. Data were analysed using frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and Analysis of Variance. The study revealed that university students use social media effectively for both academic and non-academic purposes with no significance difference in the use on the platform of gender and school ownership. The study therefore recommends the incorporation of the use of social media in instructional delivery in the teaching-learning process.

Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided the conduct of the study. A sample of 250 lecturers were drawn from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. The data collected from the respondents through a questionnaire were analysed with mean rank order and t-test statistics. The result of the study shows that lecturers exhibit positive attitude towards the integration of instructional technology into teacher education curriculum. The study recommended that the curriculum planners should include the use of instructional technology in every level of teacher education in the country. The Federal Government should do every thing possible to link higher institutions in the country to the global telecommunication network (internet) to enable both teachers and students benefit from services provided by instructional media such as radio, television, internet, CD rum among others.

The persistent poor achievement being recorded in Social Studies at the primary school level in N... more The persistent poor achievement being recorded in Social Studies at the primary school level in Nigeria has been attributed to inadequate instructional resources and the use of lecture methods which do not promote active participation of pupils in the teaching-learning process. Most previous studies have not explored the use of Three Dimensional Puzzle-Based Strategy and Paper and Pencil Puzzle-Based Strategy especially in Social Studies classroom which encourage active pupils' participation. This study therefore determined the effects of Three Dimensional Puzzle-Based Strategy (TDPS) and Paper and Pencil Puzzle-Based Strategy PPPS on pupils' achievement and attitude towards Social Studies. It also determined the moderating effects of gender and school location on the dependent variables. The study adopted pretest-posttest, control group, quasi-experimental design, using a 3×2×2 factorial matrix. Blogs are popular form of easy-to-use personal publishing that has attracted millions of bloggers... more Blogs are popular form of easy-to-use personal publishing that has attracted millions of bloggers to share their personal thoughts, opinions, and knowledge on the web. The versatility of blogs as a communication medium has attracted interests from educators. Blog service offered to learners and teachers through Internet is an important instrument to provide learners with effective activities and social interaction. Blog technology provides the users with opportunities to create web pages without any design knowledge, write their ideas on these pages, and add comments on the pages. This paper investigates the attitude and use of blog by pre-service teachers as a determinant of their academic performance. The result shows a significant relationship between pre-service teachers' academic performance and the usage of blog. It is therefore pertinent that educator begins to introduce blogging to their classroom activities.

The study was guided by two research questions and two hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance.
