This paper investigates the performance of conventional and HPWAM when machining Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy. The evaluations were based on the tool life, wear mechanisms, surface profile and chip formation. The coolant pressures, cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut were set at 11-20.3 MPa, 110m/min, 0.15 mm/rev and 0.5 mm respectively. The results showed that improved tool life as much as 195 % can be achieved when machining Ti-6Al-4V with HPWAM due to better coolant access at the cutting zone. Surfaces generated when machining with HPWAM were generally acceptable with negligible physical damage. Long and continuous chip formations were observed when machining in conventional coolant supply corresponded to the low coolant pressure. Increasing coolant pressure significantly reduces the chip size, resulting in a reduction i...

Biosensors are an increasingly important technology in the detection of compounds ranging from pesticides to biological weapons. Typically, biosensors consist of a biological macromolecule that is immobilized on the surface of a signal transducer. As the macromolecule binds specifically to the ligand being detected, the signal transducer can measure a physical change due to the binding event. One promising type of detector is the Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM). The QCM is a piezoelectric mass-sensing device. A QCM device works by sending an electrical signal through a gold-plated quartz crystal, which causes a vibration at some resonant frequency. The QCM then measures the frequency of oscillation in the crystal. When used as a biosensor, the QCM can detect changes in frequency of the crystal due to changes in mass on the surface of the crystal. In the pre...

It has been changed from a draconian, state-run institution into a free-for-all one. However, the relative freedom the media enjoyed was marred by the US management of the press, as part of the military operation and the campaign to win the hearts and minds of Iraqis who were suspicious of America’s plans for ‘liberation and democracy’. The stages of this US policy of press management and its impact on the shaping of the Iraqi media are the core elements of this thesis. This study examines the relations between the media in Iraq and the American occupation military forces, including the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA). It focuses on how American practices formed the media in Iraq after the invasion, how these practices and policies have affected the freedom of press and whether they conform to the international standards of journalism. It argues that the American policies undermined their pro...

In the Malaysian Halal Food Manufacturing, a league of Information Technology (IT) professional and decision makers is the architect of the perspective in IT. There are numerous research studies on utilizing and investigating strategic effects of environmental factors augmentation on the organizations, but compact information is acknowledged prevailing how the subjective conception for the strategic source of decisions is transformed into the objective principle. Hence, general interpretation of the IT professional and the decision makers is crucial for a comprehensive and collaborative decision-making process. Therefore, prosper stimulate assimilation of the environmental factors that persuade the knowledge integration between IT professionals and decision makers is compulsory. BI and Big Data (BD) help organizations derive enhance decision-making process and knowledge creation. The objective of this research study is to emerge knowledge from organizing BD and to utilize BI together with perceiving MIT90s framework and environmental factors for the analysis of decision-making process of halal food manufacturers in Malaysia. The study applied regression analysis to predicted 103 responses to determine decision making of business performance. The results indicate that halal market demand played important role in predicting business performance of halal manufactures. This study provides some insights into decision making perspectives of business performance management among halal food manufacturers in Malaysia.

The experiment was carried out in dry condition with spindle speed of 5000 rpm and 6000 rpm, and feed rate of 90 mm/min and 120 mm/min. Axial and radial depth of cut remain constant at 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm, respectively during the experiment. Throughout the experiments, coated HSS showed higher tool life as compared to uncoated HSS due to the coating layer of titanium aluminium nitride (TiAlN) provides protection from rapid wear during machining. For both cutting tools, the optimum cutting parameter was recorded at 5000 rpm spindle speed, 90 mm/min feed rate, 0.5 mm axial depth of cut and 1.0 mm radial depth of cut. Some evidence of built up edge (BUE) formation were observed at most of cutting tools, showing the dominant wear mechanisms appear to be adhesive wear.
