FR-4 epoxy substrate is used for the proposed IFMPA design. To achieve simplicity, the technique used is Inset feeding technique. Design, simulation and optimization are done with CST microwave software. The size of the antenna is 49.21 × 38.21 × 1.6 mm 3 having maximum gain of 2.28 dB and maximum directivity of 5.99 dB, respectively. The bandwidth of operation of the proposed antenna ranges between 2.423 GHz to 2.495 GHz.

GSM network performance on the basis of massive data records and application is presented. The available measurements are divided into variable set describing the performance of the different GSM networks in Nigeria. The report also identifies the components of Quality of Service (QoS), locate bottlenecks in network performance and available mechanism to analyze and evaluate them. Statistical analysis and customer complaint were used to identify problems. Finally, the most common QoS shortfalls and possible solutions discussed.

In order to improve its service to the citizenry, licenses were issued to network provider in year 2000 to complement the effort of NITEL. This action thus, has led to the increase in revenue generation of the nation, creation of more job for its citizenry, improvement in educational sector; as distance learning is now possible and cost effective, it has also facilitated long distance consultation; easing the cost of providing medical care throughout the nation. Data were collected online to assess the operational performance of the four major network providers in Nigeria which includes: Mtn-Ng, Glo Ng, Airtel, and Etisalat. It was observed, that, most of the network are using High Speed Packet Access (HSPA) which uses Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technologies which has led to improved Quality of Service (QoS) delivering and with over loading of ...

Research paper thumbnail of Erratic Power Supply and Its Effects on Household Equipment Reliability

American Scientific Research Journal for Engineering, Technology, and Sciences, 2015

Most household equipment makes use of electricity as their source of energy. Energy is very important to household equipment because without it they cannot perform their required function. Most communities in Nigeria are characterized by erratic power supply and this was found to have greatly reduced the useful life of these equipment, it was also discovered that because of these erratic power supply the mean time between failure (MTBF), mean time to failure (MTTF), availability (A) of these equipment have been greatly reduced while the failure rate, mean time to repair (MTTR) has increased, thus reducing the reliability (R) of the equipment. Solutions were proffered to these identified problems which will help to incre...
