Web portals are replacing the usual manual processes. Meanwhile students still find it challenging to have access to timely information anytime anywhere. The adoption of Mobile Computing and Telecommunication on portable devices such as ipads, smartphones, and handsets have made possible information delivery at the fingertips of users. With Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI), an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) can be deployed. This research work therefore is based on the design of IVRS to fit into tertiary institutions Students' Information Systems in Nigeria, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic being the case study. Rapid Application Development approach is adopted. The system is developed using VOXEO Prophecy Server, HTML, Ajax-PHP, WAMP Server and MySQL with the school web portal to provide IVR Server and required database. The system is to...

The massive transformation seen in the transportation sector has been fueled by the industrial revolutions which have continued expansion and progress into the fourth industrial revolution. However, the methodologies of data collection and processing used by the many drivers of this progress differ. The significance of standardized data and its mode of collection cannot be overstated as it has a major impact on the process outcomes. In order to achieve a better understanding of the impact of this, this study methodically reviewed the literature on the subject of the data collection and processing mechanism of 4IR technologies in the context of the transport industry with an emphasis on the areas of accomplishment of several studies and drawing attention to their limitations. Although the industry has advanced significantly as a result of the adoption and application of various research studies in this field, considerable focus needs to be placed in the areas of standardized data collection and computational approaches, which will ultimately assist in achieving various benefits in the transportation industry.

It is often very difficult to determine why a certain musician is popular and others are not. Survey shows most local yet talented musicians were not explored but lost due to unwillingness of music promoters to promote them. This study aims at using Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model in predicting the rise and popularity of local musicians by considering some established metrics for the evaluation of local musicians, alongside some characteristics/features. Using the Kaggle dataset of local musicians’ performance characteristics and historical data, the study analyzes certain features of local musicians and predict their possible future rise, using a GRU Deep Learning Model. The result shows high degree (70.1%) of accuracy with a Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0.0069, between the predicted and actual performance. The work shows that the developed model can predict the possible future rise and popularity of local musicians and can therefore be used by music promoters to make decision on sealing agreement with local/upcoming musicians both for their sustainability and promotability.

any serious government of a nation must not toy with. The assurance of
safety of the populace however is not to be left in the hands of the
government alone. If adequate security is to be achieved, there must be
participation from corporate bodies, non-governmental organisation,
communities, and even private setup. The Sub-Saharan Africa is probably
becoming a den of terrorists. The operations and activities of the terrorists
in the Sub-Saharan are so volatile that their next possible move are difficult
to predict. To this end, this study is poised to establish machine learning
models capable of predicting the terrorists attack in Sub-Saharan African
by relying on the past reservoir of attacks data on the continent. The study
which considers the peculiarity of attacks in the Sub-Saharan region
obtained past data from the Global Terrorism Database, spanning from
1970 to 2017 with data on Sub-Saharan African majorly utilized. The
approach adopted sees the study deploying Random Forest Method and
the Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) Technique. The results show that
the two methods deployed are capable of predicting terrorist attacks in
Sub-Saharan African with prediction accuracy of 85.1% and 80.1%
respectively. In the nearest future, it is hoped that this study will be further
researched in order to evolve into a data-driven system that predicts with
actual data and information, the next probable attacks of the terrorists in
terms of time and place.

Manifestos, often presented verbally, play a crucial role preceding elections, serving as a foundational basis for the electorate's evaluation. Assessing the intentionality behind these manifestos poses inherent challenges. This study employs an artificial neural network machine learning approach to analyze and evaluate the manifestos of politicians, correlating them with their subsequent performance in office. Focusing on Nigeria's two prominent political parties from 2007 to 2019, amidst shifts in political nomenclature and structures, empirical analysis reveals a model evaluation accuracy of 67%. We acknowledge the potential for refining this accuracy through further research, contingent on acquiring more comprehensive data.

Nowadays, it is used in other electronic items other than mobile phones like TV, Camera, etc. The purpose of this study is to find out the difference in performance between the different methods for developing applications due to an increasing market for platform independent applications. In this research work, we present our current findings concerning performance efficiency in cross-platform and native mobile applications (apps) and how they can contribute to a general benchmarking approach. At first, several test cases for evaluating performance of mobile applications are described with which two applications where built to implement a mathematical calculation for both native and hybrid respectively. This is used as benchmark because of the recursive nature and memory usage of both applications for CPU and memory usage. Then, the performance efficiency of native and hybrid apps is compared on a mobile device. The results show that hybrid applications still suffer performance issues in comparison to native apps. The performance deviations and reasons for them are discussed and evaluated. It is concluded that the performance of mobile applications is crucial to user experience and satisfaction.

This may have serious implications for the security of individuals and the organization. The manual mode, which is a conventional method adopted in posting security personnel in most universities focuses more on physical ability but less on emotional intelligence. Previous researches have shown that security job is emotionally demanding. Emotional intelligence may play a key role in the way an individual reacts to and manages emotional information of self and others. This study therefore introduces a system of posting security personnel that takes emotional intelligence as a key determinant factor in the posting of security personnel. Specifically, this study introduces an artificial intelligence heuristic method of allocation (genetic algorithm) for the scheduling of security officers with respect to their emotional ...

The search engine is the first stop for web users when they are looking for a product. Information retrieval may be viewed as a problem of classifying items into one of two classes corresponding to interesting and uninteresting items respectively. A natural performance metric in this context is classification accuracy, defined as the fraction of the system's interesting/uninteresting predictions that agree with the user's assessments. On the other hand, the field of information retrieval has two classical performance evaluation metrics: precision, the fraction of the items retrieved by the system that are interesting to the user, and recall, the fraction of the items of interest to the user that are retrieved by the system. Measuring the information retrieval effectiveness of World Wide Web search engines is costly because of human relevance judgments involved. However, both for business enterprises and people it is important to know the most effective Web search engines, since such search engines help their users find higher number of relevant Web pages with less effort. Furthermore, this information can be used for several practical purposes. This study evaluates the performance of three Web search engines. A set of measurements is proposed for evaluating Web search engine performance. I.

It is a creative, informal and traditional way of dropping and picking messages in a set of small open-fronted compartments usually used in a workplace or other organizations where letters or messages may be left for individuals. The chain of exchange is a kind of 'give-and-return'. It is a bi-directional 'pick-and-respond' information transmission mode. Internal and informal investigations carried out in most departments in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Nigeria, however show that the purpose of this dual-mode communication is most times defeated as recipients of pigeonhole-kept information are remote and unaware of any 'visitor' awaiting them. The researchers therefore deem it fit to close up this gap and ensure maximal consumption of the benefits pigeonhole system offers. We are therefore poised through this study, to design and implement a mobile-based, interactive and informative pigeonhole alert system that captures information meant to be archived in a pigeonhole, disseminate the information and monitor the receipt or otherwise of same with appropriate feedbacks. The proposed system allowed for easy and enhanced communication between the administrator incharge of messages (e.g. the office clerk) and the recipients, to ensure proper dissemination of information. The design and implementation were accomplished using Java and XML components of Android Software Development Kit (SDK).
