Pheromones are highly volatile substances released by insects in micro quantities to communicate ... more Pheromones are highly volatile substances released by insects in micro quantities to communicate with each other. They were discovered in 1959 by Peter Carlson and Martin Lusher. For a person, it was very important in this discovery that pheromone is not just a smell, but an odor-command, a smell-command, having felt that the insect performs a certain action. By learning to synthesize pheromones artificially, a person was able to order insects and control their behavior. The simplest and most obvious way to use this unique opportunity was to order pests to go into traps. Thus, you can either completely get rid of them, or at least precisely determine the moment of their appearance and quantity, in order to further develop an effective plan of struggle.

The individuality of the products obtained was characterized with the aid of TLC. The compositions and structures of these substances have been shown by IR and PMR spectroscopies.
