Sintered AA6061 lire quite attractive material for the automobile and aircraft industries due to their superior mechanical properties and fabrication advantages associated with II powder metallurgy process. The paper attempts to study and evaluation of sintering process parameters of a heat treated Aluminium
6061 alloy. The reinforcement material used in Aluminium 6061 is silicon carbide. The objective is to find the hardness and microstructure of AA6061 specimen by varying the composition of the silicon carbide by 0%, 3%, 6% and 9% by weight at the conditions of 3S0-380Mpa pressure and 4IS-43S•C of temperature.

In this experimental study, Aluminium matrix composites are produced with the reinforcement of alumina and silica with varying weight percentage in the order of 3%, 6% and 9%. The samples were fabricated by using various techniques, i.e., ball milling, universal testing machine and microwave oven. The fabricated specimens are then tested for Hardness, density and variation in micro structure was observed with the help of Optical Microscope. Results show that with increase in percentage of reinforcement, observed that density and increase in hardness.
