The Village of Kamasan at Klungkung in the Province of Bali is recognized as a centre of metal ha... more The Village of Kamasan at Klungkung in the Province of Bali is recognized as a centre of metal handicrafts, especially the handicraft made from brass. Many home industries for the brass handicraft are established in this village. Recently due to Rapid progress of Tourism in Bali, The brass handicraft in Kamasan are growing well because the demand for the souvenir. However some problem arise such as limited of variation, and surface quality of the brass handicraft that tend to become blurred or dull due to the process of oxidation. This condition make the brass handicrafts become not so interest as silver handicrafts that can shine for quite long time. To overcome this problem it is needed to coating the surface of the brass handicrafts so that there will be no contact with oxygen. The coating will be more benefit if able to exhibit more interesting appearance, as what nickel coating can affect the appearance of the surface to become like silver but more clear. Equipment for nickel elektroplating was designed for this purpose and donated for this purpose. The unique of the equipment that was donated were small in size therefore only low electric power is needed, only 1 liter electrolyte was used and can be use many time. The positive result is obtained for this activity where all participants able to operate the elektroplating process with excellent result.
Memenuhi kepuasan pelanggan merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan bagi semua perusahaan karena... more Memenuhi kepuasan pelanggan merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan bagi semua perusahaan karena dengan adanya kepuasan akan dapat menimbulkan loyalitas pelanggan terhadap perusahaan. Demikian pula halnya dengan Hotel Opal Bali yang merupakan hotel bintang tiga, yang berlokasi di daerah pariwisata Legian-Kuta Bali sangat dituntut untuk mampu memberikan kepuasan bagi pelanggannya dalam hal kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan, mengingat kondisi persaingan antar hotel semakin meningkat. Dengan kondisi persaingan yang ketat, pihak manajemen perusahaan perlu menerapkan strategi bisnis yang tepat agar lebih unggul dari pesaingnya. Untuk itu dilakukan penelitian mengenai kualitas pelayanan jasa hotel untuk mengetahui keinginan dan kebutuhan pelanggan serta kekurangan/kelemahan dari keberadaan fasilitas pelayanan hotel saat ini. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisa kluster yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pelanggan Hotel Opal Bali dan metode QFD digunakan untuk mengetahui atribut-atribut yang dibutuhkan pelanggan dan juga respon teknis dari pihak manajemen untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, melalui analisa kluster ternyata pelanggan Hotel Opal Bali terbagi dalam dua segmen, segmen satu diidentifikasi sebagai kelompok pelanggan yang bermaksud melakukan urusan bisnis dengan lama menginap sekitar tiga hari dan informasi keberadaan hotel diperoleh melalui teman bisnis, sedangkan segmen kedua merupakan kelompok pelanggan yang bermaksud melakukan travelling dengan lama menginap tujuh hari dan informasi keberadaan hotel diperoleh dari travel agent. Sedangkan dengan metode QFD diperoleh dua puluh atribut yang dibutuhkan pelanggan yang dapat dikelompokkan ke dalam empat fasilitas layanan, yaitu : layanan di front office, layanan kamar tamu,, layanan di restaurant dan bar serta layanan sarana dan prasarana Dari kedua puluh atribut tersebut terdapat tujuh atribut yang memiliki prioritas tinggi untuk ditingkatkan, yaitu : keamanan barang-barang bawaan, kebersihan dan kenyamanan restaurant, staff yang ramah dan sopan, kebersihan peralatan makan dan rninum, kebersihan kolam renang, kebersihan kamar mandi serta kebersihan sprei dan kenyamanan tempat tidur. Dalam upaya memenuhi atribut-atribut tersebut dan meningkatkan layanan dari atribut tersebut, maka respon teknis yang memiliki prioritas tinggi untuk dilaksanakan yaitu : memberi pelatihan pada karyawan, seleksi karyawan yang ketat, penambahan petugas keamanan, pemilihan bahan makanan, pengadaan linen/bed cover yang lembut, penggantian air secara rutin, sistem pelaporan dan kerjasama karyawan, memberi respon yang cepat, penyediaan internal phone, telepon umum koin/kartu, internet dan cleaning service.

One of the important aspects in determining the competitiveness of an automotive product is the t... more One of the important aspects in determining the competitiveness of an automotive product is the traction ability or performance, the vehicle's ability to accelerate, wind resistance, rolling resistance, against the force of the ramp, and the capacity to pull a load. The size of traction for any level of gear and vehicle speed that can be achieved can be controlled by adjusting the ratio and transmission rate. Transmission ratio affects the amount of torque that can be transmitted, while the number of speed levels affects the fineness of the process of transmission and transformation of power in the transmission system. To find a gear ratio between the lowest and highest transmission rate is by geometric progression. The basis of the use of this method is to get the ratio and amount of gear transmission rate of speed at the same engine operating speed so that fuel economy will be the same on each transmission. Modified gear ratio produce traction curve where the distance curve closer adjacent transmission. This indicates a loss of power transmission shifting is getting smaller or in other words the better traction performance. The design of the installation ratio 6-speed, generating traction curve with the distance between the curve near the sting traction, produces good traction or good performance.

Sistem transmisi adalah salah satu komponen penting pada sistem drive train, yang fungsi utamanya... more Sistem transmisi adalah salah satu komponen penting pada sistem drive train, yang fungsi utamanya adalah mentramsmisikan atau mentransformasikan torsi yang keluar dari mesin sampai ke torsi yang terjadi pada roda penggerak. Ratio transmisi berpengaruh terhadap besarnya torsi yang dapat ditransmisikan, sedangkan jumlah tingkat kecepatannya berpengaruh terhadap kehalusan (smoothness) proses transmisi dan transformasi daya pada sistem transmisi tersebut. Karakteristik traksi dan kinerja transmisi kendaraan yang diuji adalah Toyota Kijang Inova tahun 2012, Pemodelan kinerja traksi dilakukan dengan metode simulasi. Karakteristik traksi dari sistem transmisi kendaraan dianalisa paada beberapa tingkat kecepatan untuk mengatasi berbagai hambatan sepanjang kondisi operasi kendaraan. Perhitungan awal dari ratio gigi antara yang tertinggi dan terendah dapat dicari dengan menggunakan hukum Progresi Geometri. Ratio dari roda gigi akhir (terendah) ditentukan oleh kecepatan maksimum kendaraan yang akan dirancang. Sedangkan traksi maksimum atau tanjakan maksimum menentukan besar ratio roda gigi awal (tertinggi). Kemudian ratio diantara kedua batas tersebut dibuat sedemikian rupa agar traksi yang dihasilkan kendaraan dapat mendekati karakteristik idealnya. Modifikasi ratio gigi transmisi dari standarnya mendapatkan kebutuhan traksi yang lebih kecil untuk kecepatan yang sama, baik pemasangan 4 tingkat, 5 tingkat, maupun 6 tingkat kecepatan. Jarak kurva traksi antara dua ratio gigi menunjukkan besarnya traksi yang tidak terpakai. Dari grafik kinerja transmisi menunjukkan semakin banyak tingkat transmisi, semakin kecil traksi yang terbuang.Karakteristik traksi mendekati karakteristik idealnya pada gearless transmission system dengan 10 stages.

Almost 75% of gamelan production process is done using traditional method, namely: smelting, forging, grinding (Sruti) to get the basic tone, and assembly. Smelting process uses traditional furnace, where combustion air is blown from the blower through the injector into the combustion chamber of melting furnace. Open model furnace is used so that the heat generated in the combustion of the fuel is not perfect and it consumes more fuel. This condition, of course, impacts on pollutant factors produced in the combustion process and production cost that is relatively high. Since the chips having residual stress due to strain hardening during turning process, then the annealing process should be done before compacting to form a billet.The thickness of the billet was 1 cm and 6 cm in diameter with weight 500 gram. The annealing proces was carried out by burning the iron chip until reach the red color of fire. Kekuatan rangka pada konstruksi harus memenuhi aspek keamanan serta harus memperhatikan faktor kekuatan rangka itu sendiri. Menghitung kekuatan rangka dari alat pembuat briket sampah organik dilakukan dengan menggunakan cara simulasi untuk mengetahui kekuatan rangka dalam menerima beban. Simulasi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan software SolidWorks 19 dengan pembebanan statis, dan dengan variasi beban 110 kg dan 4500 kg dengan menggunakan material baja tipe ASTM A36. Air pollution has become an environmental problem since it poses a serious effect on human health... more Air pollution has become an environmental problem since it poses a serious effect on human health. In addition, circulation of air containing airborne particles including pathogens in an enclosed building like a hospital may lead to more severe health effects. Therefore, an air purifier is needed to prevent the spreading of those particles through air circulation. To address the issue, an antimicrobial membrane was prepared by embedding ZnO nanoparticles onto hollow fiber polypropylene (PP) membrane. Results showed that the prepared PP/ZnO membrane had a high air filtration performance as well as antibacterial properties. The membrane also showed a high filtration capacity or permeability with a relatively low-pressure drop. With those interesting features, the newly developed PP/ZnO membrane can be applied in air filtration, in particular for indoor spaces and other medical applications.

It was difficult in maintenance and operation. It was also difficult to relocate to the new site of waste processing. The portable anaerobic digester is prepared in this work as a solution. The capacity is about 500 liter so that suitable for home scale organic waste treatment. The material that is used for the digester was 304 stainless steel. The digester is completed wit agitator to optimize the biogas production. A slurry of cow dung (50% cow dung+ 50% water) is use to feed the digester. There are 2 variations of slurry loading rate that were investigated in this work, namely 5 liter slurry/day and 10 liter slurry/day. The biogas production rate is found about 51.7 liter biogas/day if loading with 5 liter slurry/ day. Hal ini disebabkan walaupun tegangan yang terjadi masih lebih kecil daripada tegangan yang diijinkan oleh kekuatan bahan, bisa terjadi besar lenturan akibat beban yang bekerja melebihi batas yang diijinkan. Keadaan demikian dapat menyebabkan kerusakan serius pada bagian-bagian mesin atau struktur karena dapat mengakibatkan komponen menyimpang dari fungsi utamanya. Microfiltration polypropylene (MF-PP) membrane has been widely used in many industries due to the... more Microfiltration polypropylene (MF-PP) membrane has been widely used in many industries due to their excellent combination of good separation performances and low production cost. In addition to membrane configuration, the structure of MF-PP membrane also plays an important role in separation performance. MF-PP membrane is commonly produced by thermal induced phase separation (TIPS) and stretching. TIPS is the simplest one where the polymer is dissolved in a solvent at a decent temperature and then cooled to induce phase separation which leads to the formation of microporous structure. However, this method is limited by the nature of PP that is difficult to dissolve in organic solvents and the solventcontaminated effluent produced during the fabrication process. Therefore, the stretching method is more favorably used. The Stretching method involves four processing stages in sequence (i.e. melt-extrusion, annealing, stretching, and heat setting). Polymer composition, extrusion draw ratio, as well as stretching rate and temperature, are important parameters that significantly affect the pore structures evolved and thus the properties as well as the performances of MF-PP membrane. In this paper, the recent development of MF-PP fabrication by stretching methods as well as the parameters involved in each method will be reviewed and discussed comprehensively.

Kekuatan rangka pada konstruksi harus memenuhi aspek keamanan serta harus memperhatikan faktor kekuatan rangka itu sendiri. Menghitung kekuatan rangka dari alat pembuat briket sampah organik dilakukan dengan menggunakan cara simulasi untuk mengetahui kekuatan rangka dalam menerima beban. Simulasi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan software SolidWorks 19 dengan pembebanan statis, dan dengan variasi beban 110 kg dan 4500 kg dengan menggunakan material baja tipe ASTM A36. Air pollution has become an environmental problem since it poses a serious effect on human health... more Air pollution has become an environmental problem since it poses a serious effect on human health. In addition, circulation of air containing airborne particles including pathogens in an enclosed building like a hospital may lead to more severe health effects. Therefore, an air purifier is needed to prevent the spreading of those particles through air circulation. To address the issue, an antimicrobial membrane was prepared by embedding ZnO nanoparticles onto hollow fiber polypropylene (PP) membrane. Results showed that the prepared PP/ZnO membrane had a high air filtration performance as well as antibacterial properties. The membrane also showed a high filtration capacity or permeability with a relatively low-pressure drop. With those interesting features, the newly developed PP/ZnO membrane can be applied in air filtration, in particular for indoor spaces and other medical applications.

It was difficult in maintenance and operation. It was also difficult to relocate to the new site of waste processing. The portable anaerobic digester is prepared in this work as a solution. The capacity is about 500 liter so that suitable for home scale organic waste treatment. The material that is used for the digester was 304 stainless steel. The digester is completed wit agitator to optimize the biogas production. A slurry of cow dung (50% cow dung+ 50% water) is use to feed the digester. There are 2 variations of slurry loading rate that were investigated in this work, namely 5 liter slurry/day and 10 liter slurry/day. The biogas production rate is found about 51.7 liter biogas/day if loading with 5 liter slurry/ day. Keadaan demikian dapat menyebabkan kerusakan serius pada bagian-bagian mesin atau struktur karena dapat mengakibatkan komponen menyimpang dari fungsi utamanya. Microfiltration polypropylene (MF-PP) membrane has been widely used in many industries due to the... more Microfiltration polypropylene (MF-PP) membrane has been widely used in many industries due to their excellent combination of good separation performances and low production cost. In addition to membrane configuration, the structure of MF-PP membrane also plays an important role in separation performance. MF-PP membrane is commonly produced by thermal induced phase separation (TIPS) and stretching. TIPS is the simplest one where the polymer is dissolved in a solvent at a decent temperature and then cooled to induce phase separation which leads to the formation of microporous structure. However, this method is limited by the nature of PP that is difficult to dissolve in organic solvents and the solventcontaminated effluent produced during the fabrication process. Therefore, the stretching method is more favorably used. The Stretching method involves four processing stages in sequence (i.e. melt-extrusion, annealing, stretching, and heat setting). Polymer composition, extrusion draw ratio, as well as stretching rate and temperature, are important parameters that significantly affect the pore structures evolved and thus the properties as well as the performances of MF-PP membrane. In this paper, the recent development of MF-PP fabrication by stretching methods as well as the parameters involved in each method will be reviewed and discussed comprehensively.
