The core task of the report is to analyse the impact of energy price developments on output and consumer prices. Nevertheless, understanding the link between energy price fluctuations, inflationary pressures and the role of monetary policy in reacting to such pressure requires a deeper look at the structure of the economy. Energy prices have presented a challenge for the Eurosystem, as the volatility of the energy component of consumer prices has been high since the creation of EMU. At the same time, a look back into the past may not necessarily be very informative for gauging the likely impact of energy price changes on overall inflation in the future. For instance, the reaction of HICP inflation to energy price fluctuations seems to have been more muted during the past decade than in earlier periods such as the 1970s. JEL Classificatio...

One common concern is that at risk students will have a higher rate of going to jail if they go to a school with a SRO. This capstone provides insight that counteracts such common stereotypes of the relationship between resource officers and the School to Prison Pipeline. An argument is made that schools can benefit from SROs because of the critical role they can play on campus. SROs function at a higher level than police officers or security guards. More specifically, SROs can serve as mentors, counselors, and provide safety when necessary. Based on an analysis of the data and the relevant research literature, the researcher used what he learned to formulate an action that responded to the focus issue in a way that inspired, informed, or involved a particular audience.

A luminescent PSi overlayer was formed on top of the Si wafers and p-n junctions by electrochemical anodization. These overlayers have emission spectra peaking close to 690nm. In the case of the PSi/Si wafer, the PSi film was produced with a high optical transparency above 600nm and highly absorbent below this value. With such characteristics, the incident UV radiation is partially absorbed and converted into visible radiation that can be highly transmitted through the PSi film and efficiently absorbed by the wafer or the junction. The UV measurements show enhancement of the photoresponse at 366nm as compared with control prototypes without PSi. Details about the enhancement process are discussed.

Data form PROMEP were extracted to be analyzed in a calculus worksheet. There are 4300 Academic groups recognized by PROMEP which are distribuited in six knowledge disciplines allocated in five educational subsystems. 81 % of recognized academic groups belong to the public universities subsystem, having aproximately one of every five cademic groups in consolidated state 28 % of the total academic groups are working on Engineering and Technology knowledge discipline, with 18 % of them in consolidated state; while education has just 10%, and 17 % in consolidated state. Almost half of the people working on academic groups are women. Based on the results a proposal is formulated to focus the efforts in some specifics disciplines of knowledge to impact in the región where the institutions are located. In addition to this, also a proposal is formulated to have PROMEP data in a Web page with high usability.

From its creation and recognition, coupled with the work that everyone should take to achieve their accreditation at different levels, Coordination CAs, formed by the head of the Department of Research and Technological Development and the heads of each CA was established. Coordination has prepared the proposal for inmates to follow for the main activities that fall within the CAs also work together to possible internal linking CAs guidelines. However, many of the guidelines have not yet been legally approved within the University. However, the results of the Coordination of CAs has allowed two of the CAs evaluated in 2013, will pass the status "In Training" to a level of "In Consolidation".

Within the hazard adjustment framework developed in Caballero and Engel (1993a), we present alternative models of individual price adjustment that are consistent with the predictions of the menu-cost models. We estimate these models using a data set of Spanish sectoral price indexes covering the period 1978-1998, and compare their ability to explain the behavior of the aggregate price level, taking the partial adjustment model as a benchmark. The main findings are the following: 1) models with non-constant hazard functions slightly outperform the partial adjustment model; 2) there is weak evidence regarding the existence of differences between the magnitudes of upward and downward price rigidities; and 3) the impact on the aggregate inflation rate stemming from the existence of nominal rigidities in several subsets of sectors is non-negligible.

In Spain, a similar pattern was observed: in fact, potential growth estimates were trending upwards, implying that output gaps remained relatively contained. However, the Spanish economy was progressively accumulating other internal and external imbalances. Standard potential growth estimates, which consider inflation as the only indicator of macroeconomic imbalances, therefore provided misleading signals to the policymakers. In this paper we apply to Spain a new methodology to obtain sustainable growth rates, as an alternative measure to potential growth. Sustainable growth is defined as the output growth that does not widen macroeconomic imbalances, identified through a wide set of domestic and external indicators. We find that sustainable growth rates are more stable than potential growth resulting in an output gap that is substantially larger (in absolute value) both before and after the crisis. Another attractive feature of the results is that our measure of output gap turns out to be more robust to revisions than standard measures when 'The Great Recession' emerged. The views expressed in this paper are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of Banco de España or its staff. This paper extends the previous work titled "Growth Beyond Imbalances. Sustainable Growth Rates and Output Gap Reassessment" for the Spanish case. Now, some of those economies are deleveraging, which may affect their recovery. We try to disentangle how these financial developments work for private consumption in a panel of oecd countries, after controlling for the traditional determinants (income, net financial and non-financial wealth and interest rates). We find that consistent with the perceived changes in the distribution of financial constrains across countries, aggregate consumption is also driven by the dynamics of housing debt accumulation and deleveraging.

In terms of value added, total factor productivity growth in the manufacturing_sector is higher than in services (2.4% and 1.1 % respectively), although the Communication Sector constitutes an exception. In terms of gross production productivity growth in both sectors is virtually the same (0.6% and 0.7% respectively) because of the relative lower weight of intermediate inputs in producing services. During the latest cyclical expansion, 1995-1999, we have observed a marked deceleration in labor productivity, associated to an increase in employment, and to a deceleration in the capital-labor ratio, while total factor productivity has remained more stable.
