ABSTRACT Reading difficulty is one of the major problems faced by dyslexic children. Reading skil... more ABSTRACT Reading difficulty is one of the major problems faced by dyslexic children. Reading skill is the most crucial ability as it is required in the upper level of discovery of knowledge. In this research, Phonic Reading Technique and Multisensory Approach are blended with interactive multimedia, which incorporates multimedia elements such as text, graphics, video, and animation. The manner of applying those techniques in “Bijak Membaca” is discussed. The contents of this application are specifically designed to visualize letters, words, sentences, and pronunciations in the Malay language for dyslexics, aged 7-8 years, with awareness of their characteristics. In order to evaluate the design of its content, heuristic testing is conducted among multimedia lecturers and IT undergraduates. The result reveals that the contents are well designed with the inclusion of Phonic Reading Technique, Multisensory Approach, and suitable multimedia elements. It is also concluded as interesting, user-friendly, attractive, valuable, and supportive.

Asmaul husna is the 99 names of attributes which is owned by Allah SWT. All names in asmaul husna... more Asmaul husna is the 99 names of attributes which is owned by Allah SWT. All names in asmaul husna must be translated with the word "Maha", which shows the perfection in divine attribute. Unfortunately, in this modern age, the lack of knowledge about asmaul husna especially its meaning is the most common problem among muslim society. By learning asmaul husna via traditional methods such as text books and white board, muslims are getting less motivated and have no desire to learn more about asmaul husna. Due to the emerging of gamification, the traditional methods are less effective, and it has several limitations in terms of equipment for the learning process. Learning asmaul husna through gamification could increase motivation, offers challenges and trigger excitement to play, while applying multimedia principles could ease in the learning process by reducing the cognitive load and excess memory. The aim of this project is to learn on asmaul husna attributes and meanings, identify suitable gamification elements and multimedia principles to be adapted into the design and development of Asmaul husna Learning Game for students. This game consists of gamification elements in learning such as points, rewards, countdown timer, and discovery and multimedia learning principles which is the signalling principle. Heuristic evaluation has been initiated and from the test results, this game is highly recommended for students.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a chronic condition where the kidneys' functions' progres... more Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a chronic condition where the kidneys' functions' progression is lost or slowed in the body. Once our kidneys are damaged, excretion process in the body cannot be carried out effectively. Important information is needed for CKD patients such as food nutrition, consequences and also daily healthcare management. Thus, the focus of this project is to develop a multimedia application for CKD patients that can provide self-care guidelines for their daily life. This project is developed using Adobe Flash CS5.5 that provides the outcome which is CKD patient self-care guidelines flash tool. Subsequently, a simple website of CKD patient self-care guidelines has been developed using Adobe Dreamweaver that acts as a tool to disseminate this multimedia application. From this project, a new interactive design of CKD self-care management has been created and more effective information channel is developed for them. Heuristic evaluation and usability test have been conducted on the experts and real users to ensure that the project delivered meet the users' expectations.

The application integrates multimedia elements and mental arithmetic technique in an interactive and supportive way that is suitable for pre-school children level. This can be achieved by using persuasive technology to change the attitudes or behaviors of the users through persuasion and social influence. The objectives of this research are to provide a new medium for campaigning on the danger of smoking and to propose a conceptual framework based on Bandura' Social Learning Theory and Fogg' Behavior Model. This research will apply the principles of persuasive technology into interactive mobile game to influence children behavior into rejecting smoking habits from the early age. Future work will develop and evaluate mobile game prototype based on the conceptual framework proposed.

Aseptic Techniques is one of the most important steps that needs to be utilized by Continuous Amb... more Aseptic Techniques is one of the most important steps that needs to be utilized by Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) users. This technique is crucial to avoid them from bacterial contamination which leads to peritonitis while performing CAPD procedures. Therefore, this study was conducted to assist CAPD users in learning and practicing Aseptic Techniques. A multimedia application has been developed with the integration of multimedia elements such as text, image, and video in order to help renal patients in learning the Aseptic Techniques. A usability test and an interview were conducted to evaluate the usefulness of the multimedia application. The result indicates that the application is successful in increasing knowledge, understanding and guidance for CAPD users in aseptic activities. This application provides users with a different experience in learning aseptic activities as they are able to learn at their own pace. It is discovered that the multimedia application has successfully met the objective and it is beneficial for renal patients as one of the means to avoid Peritonitis.

This research is focused on integration of multimedia elements and implementation of multimedia principles in the application, which is intended to deliver an attractive and acceptable multimedia mathematical application for dyslexics. The application allows dyslexics to interact with the tutorials that comprise of recognizing numbers, number sequencing, operation of mathematical symbols, mathematical operations, and activities for their enhancement. User Acceptance Test is conducted with dyslexic and special education teachers in order to evaluate the application. Most of the teachers agree that the application is not only supportive and valuable for dyslexics, but it is also attractive, user friendly, and an interesting educational aid. The research finds that the implementation of multimedia elements and principles can encourage the children to learn mathematics and enhance their mathematical skills as well.

Solat involves stretching that is in harmony with the body needs for health care. Therefore, this research focuses on solat guidance in three dimensional (3D) ways. The purpose of this research is to show the complete solat techniques as a therapy to the human body and health using 3D model. This application is developed using 3D Autodesk Maya software that includes the human model, movement (rigging) and other multimedia elements that can create interactivity in this application. The application shows a guideline of learning a perfect Solat Technique and the benefit of solat in the therapeutic means. Usability test is performed to observe the usability and learnability aspects of the application. Respondents were selected among adults to experience this application. It eventually guides the users to focus on solat therapy techniques and its benefits.

In this research, Phonic Reading Technique and Multisensory Approach are blended with interactive multimedia, which incorporates multimedia elements such as text, graphics, video, and animation. The manner of applying those techniques in "Bijak Membaca" is discussed. The contents of this application are specifically designed to visualize letters, words, sentences, and pronunciations in the Malay language for dyslexics, aged 7-8 years, with awareness of their characteristics. In order to evaluate the design of its content, heuristic testing is conducted among multimedia lecturers and IT undergraduates. The result reveals that the contents are well designed with the inclusion of Phonic Reading Technique, Multisensory Approach, and suitable multimedia elements. It is also concluded as interesting, user-friendly, attractive, valuable, and supportive.

Aseptic Techniques is one of the most important steps that needs to be utilized by Continuous Amb... more Aseptic Techniques is one of the most important steps that needs to be utilized by Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) users. This technique is crucial to avoid them from bacterial contamination which leads to peritonitis while performing CAPD procedures. Therefore, this study was conducted to assist CAPD users in learning and practicing Aseptic Techniques. A multimedia application has been developed with the integration of multimedia elements such as text, image, and video in order to help renal patients in learning the Aseptic Techniques. A usability test and an interview were conducted to evaluate the usefulness of the multimedia application. The result indicates that the application is successful in increasing knowledge, understanding and guidance for CAPD users in aseptic activities. This application provides users with a different experience in learning aseptic activities as they are able to learn at their own pace. It is discovered that the multimedia application has successfully met the objective and it is beneficial for renal patients as one of the means to avoid Peritonitis.

This research is focused on integration of multimedia elements and implementation of multimedia principles in the application, which is intended to deliver an attractive and acceptable multimedia mathematical application for dyslexics. The application allows dyslexics to interact with the tutorials that comprise of recognizing numbers, number sequencing, operation of mathematical symbols, mathematical operations, and activities for their enhancement. User Acceptance Test is conducted with dyslexic and special education teachers in order to evaluate the application. Most of the teachers agree that the application is not only supportive and valuable for dyslexics, but it is also attractive, user friendly, and an interesting educational aid. The research finds that the implementation of multimedia elements and principles can encourage the children to learn mathematics and enhance their mathematical skills as well.

Solat involves stretching that is in harmony with the body needs for health care. Therefore, this research focuses on solat guidance in three dimensional (3D) ways. The purpose of this research is to show the complete solat techniques as a therapy to the human body and health using 3D model. This application is developed using 3D Autodesk Maya software that includes the human model, movement (rigging) and other multimedia elements that can create interactivity in this application. The application shows a guideline of learning a perfect Solat Technique and the benefit of solat in the therapeutic means. Usability test is performed to observe the usability and learnability aspects of the application. Respondents were selected among adults to experience this application. It eventually guides the users to focus on solat therapy techniques and its benefits.
