The present study aims to explore the currents trends of open access e-books available through th... more The present study aims to explore the currents trends of open access e-books available through the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) in the subject field of Islam. The DOAB was selected as a source for data collection during July 2020. The findings reveal that 263 e-books are available on Islam, which contributes only (0.94 percent) of the total share of e-books (27,697) available in DOAB. The results reveal that the maximum number of e-books is available on Religion (111), History (42), Sociology (34), and Political Science (27). The publishing trends show that majority of these e-books were published by Transcript Verlag (28), followed by Pressess de I'ifpo (23) and Brill (18), respectively. The licensing authority reveals that the highest number of e-books (105) on Islam is available through Open Education License for Books.The linguistic assessment shows that (44.86 percent) of e-books have been published in the English language followed by French (38.78 percent) and Ger...

Plants have been traditionally used for hundreds of years throughout world as a source of medicine. Forest resources have played the most significant role in the economy of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In this paper, we examine the attitude of people towards the use of medicinal plants in district Bandipora of Kashmir valley using a well designed and validated questionnaire to collect the information from a sample of 400 people selected with the help of stratified random sampling technique. The results obtained from our study using standard statistical tools reveals that people under study show positive attitude towards the use of medicinal plants. Design/methodology/approach – An online method was used to collect the relevant data for achieving the objectives of the study. Data were harvested from the official website of Google Arts and Culture (https:// artsandculture.google.com/) during the period of 15 May to 31 May 2018, and the same was tabulated in MS Excel for analysis and interpretation. Findings – The findings revealed that Google Arts and Culture includes a total of 6,272 artists, 228 media and 121 art movements. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have newly gained popularity and momentum as a modern method of learning due to its great progress in the academic community today. The great advancements in Information and Communication Technology ICT and internet, the increasing number of MOOC providers and the popularity of the fast emerging learning options have greatly impacted the gaining popularity of MOOC platforms in the present era. This study provides an insight into SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), the first major Indian MOOC platform. This study reveals that highest number of courses available through SWAYAM platform is in the field of Engineering with 654 courses, followed by Arts and Recreation with 127 courses and Science with 93 courses. The majority of these books (28.51 percent) are published before 2000. In contrast, authorship trends reveal that majority of the e-books are by a single author (68.87 percent) followed by two authors (20.53 percent) and three authors (9.50 percent). The maximum number of e-books (24.71 percent) has 201-400 pages while as, (51.33 percent) of e-books do not have page numbering.

The present study was carried out with the purpose to examine the association between spiritualit... more The present study was carried out with the purpose to examine the association between spirituality and stress on one hand; and also stress and job satisfaction on the other hand among workers in central Kashmir of Kashmir valley. The study used a non-experimental research design, over interviewing a total of 400 workers chosen according to convenience of ability to answer the questionnaire in academic institutions of central Kashmir of Kashmir valley. We use five-point Likert scale to measure spirituality, stress and job satisfaction of the respondents. Data collected was analyzed using standard statistical tools like correlation, Mann-Whitney Utest etc. The results of our study revealed that stress was not related to spirituality because spiritual people did not protest when congested with work increasing stress levels of the spiritual. The present study was carried out in district Srinagar, the world famous place and summer capital... more The present study was carried out in district Srinagar, the world famous place and summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir State with the purpose to understand consumerâs behavior and constraints faced by fish consumers in district Srinagar of Kashmir valley. Fish is one of the most important sources of animal protein, vitamins, minerals and has been widely accepted as a good source of protein and other elements for the maintenance of healthy body. It is an extremely perishable commodity and quality losses can occur very rapidly after catch. Data for the present study was collected from 400 respondents during 2017-18 using a well-designed validated questionnaire. Â The results obtained from our study revealed that 21.75% of the consumers bought fish occasionally, 33.75% once a month, 12.25% twice a month, 4.25% twice a week, 8.25% once a week and 19.75% once a year. These libraries are spread all over the country, which consist of state central libraries at state level while district, urban public libraries and rural public libraries at the village level. In this milieu, owing to immense importance of public libraries, the main aim of the present study is to ascertain the perception of library users towards the use of Sri Pratap Singh (SPS) public Library, Srinagar. The major findings of the study reveal that maximum (75%) respondents of the study are males. It emerges that the majority of the respondents (65.6%) visit library daily, followed by 21.9% once in a week and 6.3% once in a month with majority of users opining that the library is holding very good collection covering all the major subjects/disciplines.
