Aim of this study was to examine the farming characteristic, i.e. production cost, revenue, income, and the nature of household organic farmer expenditure in Sleman District. The study was done by taking 30 samples of organic rice farm household using proportional random sampling method. The samples taken were certified as organic farmers. Farming characteristic and household food consumption was examined by doing interview on farmers to know the total cost for organic rice cultivation, revenue, income, and household expenditure per year. The results showed that organic rice farming income per hectare in Sleman District was IDR 17,895,033, while the cost per hectare was IDR 5,614,290. Production activities often led to externality or external impact. Benefit externality in palm sugar industry is that the palm trees producing saps used to make palm sugar have ecological value. The existence of these plants can absorb carbon emissions and supports land and water conservation. The palm sugar production can also generate negative externalities because the needs for fuel are met by forest firewood. The environmental feasibility of an industry is now an important and strategic issue that must be addressed properly and the industrial performance should be improved continuously, so does the palm sugar domestic industry. Through share-beef cattle pattern, the farmers (tenant) can rent livestock from other parties (individual nor government) within a share-beef cattle contract agreement. The purposes of this study were to determine the technical efficiency and the factors which influence the inefficiency from 108 small beef cattlebreeding, which consists of 59 farming operated by owner and 49 operated by tenant. The unit samples were selected by snowball sampling method and analysed by Stochastic Frontier Production. Our study showed that the average technical efficiency of beef cattle breeding operated by owner was at 0.73, otherwise operated by tenant was at 0.790. The inefficiency of beef cattle breeding operated by owner has negatively corresponded to the number of cows, the farmer age, the age of c...

Therefore, this study aims at determining the financial, economic, and environmental feasibility of the palm sugar domestic industry. The analytical method used was the Extended Benefit-Cost Ratio. The current climate shocks and stresses have devastating impacts on the livelihood vulnerability ... more The current climate shocks and stresses have devastating impacts on the livelihood vulnerability of the poor fishermen in Bengkulu Province. Increasing frequency of rainfall, temperature, sea level rise, and climate extremes will exacerbate these impacts. This study aims to see how perceived climate change affects the vulnerability of fishermen's livelihoods. The Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI) method is used to assess livelihood vulnerability to climate change. The result of LVI analysis shows that Bengkulu City has the highest level of livelihood vulnerability (LVI = 0.472) compared to that of North Bengkulu Regency and South Bengkulu Regency (with LVI = 0.430 and 0.437 respectively). The marine capture fishermen in Bengkulu City are very vulnerable to climate change because they have a high dependence on capture fisheries sector. Internal factor constraints have a positive effect on the level of vulnerability of fishermen's livelihoods and fish production constraints...
