This has made many corporations to embark on human capital development processes to facilitate extensive career development opportunities. Consistency of operations are the critical elements recoded by numerous management practitioners and researchers as determinants of corporations growth. This study assessed management inconsistent attitudes exhibited that precipitate unpleasant actions instituted by employees. In its drive towards constructive compilation of facts, this investigation extracted, reviewed, analysed and adopted relevant facts derived from secondary sources published by many schools of thought. Adoption of relevant contributions disclosed research concerns, which facilitated the collection of primary data with the aid of questionnaires and focus group discussions. A representative sample size of 200 respondents and a sample frame that encompasses three corporate institutions are the considerable elements of this endeavour. This study analysed facts derived from survey with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Facts presented indicated that, HRM policies are selectively implemented and rights of many employees are violated. They mentioned that most job classifications do not align with prescribed rules and regulations governing human capital management. Respondents disclosed that numerous promotions are not done in accordance with stipulated regulations; elements such as capacity building, task distribution, grievances reported, are preferentially dealt with, and such act of unpleasantness leads to organisations unrest. In addition, disciplinary hearings, constructive and summary dismissal matters are neither thoroughly investigated nor supported by credible evidences in a disciplinary hearing. Consequently, aforementioned unpleasant characteristics could serve as precursor for industrial actions. This study is noteworthy to management consultancies, corporations in Freetown; and serve as reference mechanisms for numerous related investigations.

Bauxite mining exploration has left many communities in deplorable conditions, ranging from low l... more Bauxite mining exploration has left many communities in deplorable conditions, ranging from low levels of livelihood sustenance to poor health facilities and poor road networks. This study assessed effects of bauxite mining on community livelihood and sustainability. This investigation was conducted in the provincial part of Guinea. The study reviewed pieces of literature published on bauxite mining and exploration; employed descriptive statistics and correlational methods, which facilitated the gathering, classification and presentation of data that led to analysis, description and conclusion of the study. Three hundred (300) questionnaires were distributed to community inhabitants, which enhanced the compilation of first-hand information. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and results disclosed numerous problems, ranging from health to education and poor road networks. It was revealed that, bauxite exploration activities have damaged lands utilised for agricultural purposes. In addition, deposits of toxic substances have damaged soil nutrients, which caused degradation of the land tenure system and unproductiveness. This study identified issues bothering Sangaredi and other communities where bauxite-mining explorations are conducted. Results descriptively explained issues of exploration and established negative effects caused by bauxite mining in the community. However, such activity adversely affects the community at large. Because of the foregoing problems discovered as negative effects, it is necessary for government and mining corporations to pay considerable attention to Bidikoum community and address such problems. However, this study is noteworthy to researchers of mineral explorations, academicians and mining consultants and such information will serve as a reference manual for further investigation on the subject matter.

Determining staffs exhibited characteristics in different facets of organisations operations is another ambiguous endeavour tertiary institutions have been wrestling with. However, achieving exceptional performance necessitate the efficient management of universities human, material and financial resources for institutional growth. This study therefore assessed elements that constitute high-performance work system and its efficient management for effective service delivery predominantly in institutions of higher learning. In this regard, pieces of literature was reviewed from numerous publications, ranging from journal articles to management books, where several fissures were identified. This study employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methods, which enhanced the gathering, classification and presentation of data that led to descriptive analysis, discussion and objective conclusion. Primary data was obtained with the aid of questionnaires distributed to a selected sample size of 250 respondents from a sample frame that constitute three universities. Results showed that, an efficient performance management system facilitate effective staff capacity development, which increases employees' skills and competencies for effective service delivery. Further considerable facts disclosed; emphasised the significance of rewards and compensation as strategic motivating elements that reinforces employee performance. Analysed and discussed first-hand information obtained from respondents established that, developing staff capacity and rewarding them equitably, facilitate exceptional performance, which leads to effective service delivery, since such staff is empowered with the required competencies for competitive excellence. In relation to aforesaid, this study is significant to general management practitioners, university authorities, human capital specialists and business consultants.

Performance management is extensively studied by numerous management practitioners and academicians who have established results that is used as reference manual by many financial institutions and multinational companies. This study however, assessed the effects of performance management systems and procedures on organisational development. In this regard, several pieces of literature published on the subject matter was reviewed as supportive mechanisms towards accomplishing objectives of this endeavour. We employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methods, which enabled the gathering, classification and presentation of data that led to constructive discussion and conclusion. This study selected a sample size of 200 employees from two financial institutions where first-hand information was obtained with the aid of questionnaires distributed to sample units. Results shows that, effective training and staff development facilitate skills development, which enhances exceptional performance. In additional, organisations commitment on high employee engagement increases employees motivational level, which leads to outstanding performance and minimises staff turnover. Further facts revealed noted that, financial rewards play a pivotal role towards organisational development. Results emphasised that, employee recognition for outstanding performance and compensation for innovative contributions instils the culture of outstanding performance, which enhances organisational development. This study examined procedures and processes of managing human capital as a strategic source of sustainable enterprise development and competitive advantage. In this regard, it reviewed several pieces of literature that identified considerable elements of human capital management. This study however employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methodsfor the collection, classification and presentation of data, which was obtained through the distribution of three hundred (300) questionnaires to employees of 2 financial institutions. Data obtained from survey was analysed using percentages and Pearson correlation. Results of data analysed showed that staff capacity building (training and development), employee engagement and commitment and compensation and rewards management serves as strategic elements which facilitate the efficient management of organisations human capital. Further facts revealed, emphasised that, the judicious management of aforementioned components reinforces organisations capacity to strategically position their workforce for competitive excellence. More findings disclosed that, an efficient performance management system ensures the conduct of staff capacity building programmes and the provision of adequate toolsfacilitate the enhancement of skills and competencies for effective job performance. Also, recognising employees for their immense contributions through financial and non-financial rewards strengthens organisations management capability. In addition, effective engagement strengthens employer-employee relationship which supports and improve task, adaptive and contextual performance. In relation to the foregoing facts about human capital management, this study is noteworthy to human capital specialists, general management practitioners, business consultants and training and development specialists.

This study examined determinants of employee outstanding performance in corporate institutions with strategic human resource management perspectives of organisational development and sustainability. In this regard, the study critically reviewed pieces of literature published on issues relating to employee performance, which facilitated the discoveryof great concerns of exceptional performance. In order to addressgaps identified, the study employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methods which facilitated the gathering, classification and presentation of data that led to descriptive analysis, discussions and objective conclusion of the study. Nevertheless;obtaining first-hand information was enhanced through the distribution of 300 questionnaires to sample units. Data obtained from sample units was analysed, using Descriptive statistics and Persian correlation. Processed data shows the significance of training and employee development as key element towards improving performance in several facets of organisational operations. However, further facts discoveredestablished that, high employee engagement facilitate effective employer-employee relationship,which shows motivational values and employees worth that prompt institutions workforce todemonstrate commitment towards organisations success. Nonetheless, the cost of training staffs in tertiary educational institutions is a critical sensation that restrains the conduct of training and developing them. This study seeks to carefully examine the impact of training and development on staff performance in tertiary educational institutions in Sierra Leone. The thrust for this theoretical research led to the retrieval of secondary sources published about the subject matter in order to structurally organize its content towards meaningful outcome. Analysis drawn from the retrieved information disclose to us that training can be conducted either on-the-job or off-the-job, which requires an assessment of the necessity of training which states the analysis of the organisation, person and task before an appropriate method could be selected. The reviewed content states that method selected should be followed by an evaluation process to ascertain its effect whether negative or positive. In relation to the evaluated evidences in the reviewed content, we are able to establish that training and development has a positive impact on employee performance as efficiency and effectiveness is activated or inspired by the quantum of knowledge that resides in employees. Discussion was drawn from internal and external recruitment, their benefits and drawbacks and the relevance of administering employment tests in order to select suitable candidates for vacant jobs. Private and public establishments have been devising processes and procedures on how inequitable distribution of financial and no-financial rewards can be addressed to prevent employees' demotivation, which has adverse effects on corporations' growth. The above consideration led to the careful examination of inequitable distribution of rewards as a recipe for employee turnover in private and public corporations. Critical assessment on available information disclosed constituents of financial and non-financial rewards and analysis unveiled that equitable distribution of rewards serves as a process for employee retention. Considering the above facts, this study seeks to assess the significance of Training and Developing Medical Personnel in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, and to examine its Effects on Post Ebola Recovery in the Health Systems. The fortitude for this qualitative research led to the retrieval of secondary sources published on the subject matter and analysis of retrieved information disclosed the constituents of training and development such as: on-the-job and off-the-job training, methods of training, formal and informal training, evaluating and transferring training. Further analysis reveals that training and developing medical personnel in these West African countries has positive effects on post Ebola recovery since employees will be equipped with the required skills and competences to forecast, identify and minimise or eradicate issues that will prompt unexpected health circumstances in the future. This study examined procedures and processes of managing human capital as a strategic source of sustainable enterprise development and competitive advantage. In this regard, it reviewed several pieces of literature that identified considerable elements of human capital management. This study however employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methodsfor the collection, classification and presentation of data, which was obtained through the distribution of three hundred (300) questionnaires to employees of 2 financial institutions. Data obtained from survey was analysed using percentages and Pearson correlation. Results of data analysed showed that staff capacity building (training and development), employee engagement and commitment and compensation and rewards management serves as strategic elements which facilitate the efficient management of organisations human capital. Further facts revealed, emphasised that, the judicious management of aforementioned components reinforces organisations capacity to strategically position their workforce for competitive excellence. More findings disclosed that, an efficient performance management system ensures the conduct of staff capacity building programmes and the provision of adequate toolsfacilitate the enhancement of skills and competencies for effective job performance. Also, recognising employees for their immense contributions through financial and non-financial rewards strengthens organisations management capability. In addition, effective engagement strengthens employer-employee relationship which supports and improve task, adaptive and contextual performance. In relation to the foregoing facts about human capital management, this study is noteworthy to human capital specialists, general management practitioners, business consultants and training and development specialists.

Success of every institution is determined by its performance management system which ensures the provision of adequate tools that enhances outstanding performance. This study examined determinants of employee outstanding performance in corporate institutions with strategic human resource management perspectives of organisational development and sustainability. In this regard, the study critically reviewed pieces of literature published on issues relating to employee performance, which facilitated the discoveryof great concerns of exceptional performance. In order to addressgaps identified, the study employed descriptive quantitative and correlational methods which facilitated the gathering, classification and presentation of data that led to descriptive analysis, discussions and objective conclusion of the study. Nevertheless;obtaining first-hand information was enhanced through the distribution of 300 questionnaires to sample units. Data obtained from sample units was analysed, using Descriptive statistics and Persian correlation. Processed data shows the significance of training and employee development as key element towards improving performance in several facets of organisational operations. However, further facts discoveredestablished that, high employee engagement facilitate effective employer-employee relationship,which shows motivational values and employees worth that prompt institutions workforce todemonstrate commitment towards organisations success. In addition, financial reward was classified as the principal motivator and its judicious use,emphasised by respondents, could influence employees towards exceptional performance.Persian Correlation established significant relationships described thus: Institutions with efficient performance management systems ensures staff capacity building which increasesemployees'competency level.On the other hand, effective engagement and allocation of financial and no-financial rewards generate an outstanding workforce that leads to organisational development and competitive advantage. Nonetheless, the cost of training staffs in tertiary educational institutions is a critical sensation that restrains the conduct of training and developing them. This study seeks to carefully examine the impact of training and development on staff performance in tertiary educational institutions in Sierra Leone. The thrust for this theoretical research led to the retrieval of secondary sources published about the subject matter in order to structurally organize its content towards meaningful outcome. Analysis drawn from the retrieved information disclose to us that training can be conducted either on-the-job or off-the-job, which requires an assessment of the necessity of training which states the analysis of the organisation, person and task before an appropriate method could be selected. The reviewed content states that method selected should be followed by an evaluation process to ascertain its effect whether negative or positive. Private and public establishments have been devising processes and procedures on how inequitable distribution of financial and no-financial rewards can be addressed to prevent employees' demotivation, which has adverse effects on corporations' growth. The above consideration led to the careful examination of inequitable distribution of rewards as a recipe for employee turnover in private and public corporations.
