The experiment consist of eight treatments namely; T1 (NPK + NSP + GSL), T2 (NPK+ NSP), T3 (NPK+ GSL), T4 (NSP + GSL), T5 (NPK), T6 (GSL), T7 (NSP), T8 control without treatments. The experiment was laid down as Complete Randomized Block Design replicated three times. The results demonstrated that the number of spikelets with female flowers were significantly high in T1 to T7 as compared to T8 treatment. The 1st spikelets with number of female flowers (48.97) were significantly (p<0.05) high in T1 as compared to T2, T3, T4 and T8. In case of stalk length (38.05 cm) it ...

The experiment was conducted at Coastal Agricultural Research Station (CARS) Farm, PARC, Karachi. The Tori varieties planted ridge gourd (Luffa acutangulla Roxb.) and sponge gourd (Luffa cylindrica L.) under the trail staked and unstaked Tori were grown satisfactory under coconut plot. The results showed that the staked method compared to unstaked had 30-35% increase in yield and also insect pest protection. The yield data recorded showed that staked gave maximum yield. It was also found that the intercropping did not affect the agronomic trails and yield of the coconut, but increase the yield compared to palms alone.

The seedling height and number of leaves were significantly high in treatment T7 (Neem seed powder) (27.62 ± 8.74) and treatment T5 (NPK) (27.18 ± 8.60). The maximum number of the roots was observed in T1 (NPK + Neem seed powder + Gliricidia sepium) (2.26 ± 0.71) and T3 (NPK + Gliricidia sepium) (1.69 ± 0.53), where as minimum roots was recorded in T8 (Control) (0.94 ± 0.29). The maximum number of leaves was observed in T4 (Neem seed powder + Gliricidia sepium) (1.49±0.47) and T1 (1.31±0.41). The results showed the beneficial effects of organic and inorganic fertilizers on seedlings. The work indicated morphological diversity of seedlings at the nursery stage to help the growers in choosing planting materials for their gardens in coastal area of Sindh and Balochistan.

It is propagated from its parts i.e., stem, leaves, seeds and roots. Dried calyces are commercially available and concentrated extracts usually used in the food and pharmaceutical companies. The roselle is known as functional foods and provides health benefits to consumers. Due to caffeine free, demand is increasing day to day for the products of this plant. Therefore, more companies are involved to develop of new value-added products. This review article aims to present important aspects of this plant and as well as its uses in food products, beverages and health benefits. It contains organic compounds and a drug use in the preparation of natural medicines. Roselle is a new introduction in our coastal area and need further studies for propagation, cultivation, production and protection.

Significant improvements in the plant growth, seed yield and oil contents increased with increasing Zn levels. The results revealed that there was a significant improvement in the growth, seed yield and oil content with increasing Zn levels, irrespectively. The highest Zn level of 10 kg ha-1 resulted 216 cm plant height, 10.86 branches plant-1 , took 55.66 days to initiate flowering, 574.50 pods plant-1 , 17.61 g weight of seeds plant-1 , 3.63 g seed index, 2037.20 seed yield kg ha-1 and 36.80 percent oil as the highest output. In case of varieties, S-9 ranked 1 st with 216.50 cm plant height, 10.84 branches plant-1 , took 56.33 days to initiate flowering, 581.11 pods plant-1 , 17.82 g weight of seeds plant-1 , 3.66 g seed index, 1960.30 seed yield kg ha-1 and 36.80 percent oil content; while variety Early Mustard resulted 186.56 cm plant height, 9.25 branches plant-1 , took 52.72 days to initiate flowering, 484.67 pods plant-1 , 14.50 g weight of seeds plant-1 , 2.90 g seed index, 1677.90 seed yield kg ha-1 and 35.13 percent oil content. It is suggested that for achieving economically higher seed yields in mustard, the Zn application to mustard may be done at the rate of 8 kg ha-1. Moreover, variety S-9 may preferably grow for obtaining higher seed and oil contact yields.

The study demonstrated that the treatments T1 {Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Muriate of potash (NPK) + Neem seed powder (NSP) + Gliricidiasepium leaves (GSL)} and T2 (NPK+ GSL) significantly increased most of the morphological characters (stem girth, number of leaves, petiole and leaflets). The study revealed that vegetatively the coconut was grown well on soil amended with organic and inorganic fertilizers. The morphological characters i.e the stem girth (173.77 cm) of coconut at 20 cm height T1 (NPK + NSP + GSL) treatment produced maximum girth as compared to T2 to T8 {T2 (NPK+ NSP), T3 (NPK+ GSL), T4 (NSP + GSL), T5 (NPK), T6 (GSL), T7 (NSP), T8 (Control)} treatments.
