For the design of the filter, a dual-path Step Impedance Resonator, or DP-SIR, is utilised. A theoretical analysis of the suggested DP-SIR structure is presented in this body of work. At 3.76 and 11.04 GHz, the proposed architecture produces a dual-band BSF with fractional bandwidths of 50.5% and 16.36%, respectively. The comprehensive study demonstrates that the resonant frequencies can be controlled by adjusting the electrical length of the SIR. In addition, it has been found that dual-path SIR is involved in the production of finite frequency transmission poles, which results in an improvement in selectivity. This was discovered by accident. The results of the measurements and the simulations are fairly consistent with one another.

To solve these problems, we present a speech emotion recognition system based on a reductionist approach of decomposing and analyzing syllable-level features. Mel-spectrogram of an audio stream is decomposed into syllable-level components, which are then analyzed to extract statistical features. The proposed method uses formant attention, noise-gate filtering, and rolling normalization contexts to increase feature processing speed and tolerance to adversity. A set of syllable-level formant features is extracted and fed into a single hidden layer neural network that makes predictions for each syllable as opposed to the conventional approach of using a sophisticated deep learner to make sentence-wide predictions. The syllable level predictions help to achieve the real-time latency and lower the aggregated error in utterance level cross-corpus predictions. The experiments on IEMOCAP (IE), MSP-Improv (MI), and RAVDESS (RA) databases show that the method archives real-time latency while predicting with state-of-the-art cross-corpus unweighted accuracy of 47.6% for IE to MI and 56.2% for MI to IE.

INTRODUCTION Central Venous Catheterization (CVC) is a relatively common procedure to obtain central venous access for multiple purposes. Some of its uses include providing parenteral nutrition to patients, treatment of intravascular volume depletion, monitoring for hemodynamics, intravenous access (IV) during cardiopulmonary arrest, hemodialysis, difficult peripheral intravenous access and long-term Intravenous access for medications such as antibiotics.1,2 The placement of CVC is a blind procedure making it risky and leads to many complications. The risk is enhanced by a number of factors such as obesity, site of attempted access, operator experience, and associated comorbids such as coagulopathy.1 The anatomical landmark technique has traditionally been used for CVC. This study aimed to investigate the impact of the lockdown on the air quality of Nanjing, China. The off-axis measurements from state-of-the-art remote-sensing Multi-Axis Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscope (MAX-DOAS) were used to observe the trace gases, i.e., Formaldehyde (HCHO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), along with the in-situ time series of NO2, SO2 and Ozone (O3). The total dataset covers the span of five months, from 1 December 2019, to 10 May 2020, which comprises of four phases, i.e., the pre lockdown phase (1 December 2019, to 23 January 2020), Phase-1 lockdown (24 January 2020, to 26 February 2020), Phase-2 lockdown (27 February 2020, to 31 March 2020), and post lockdown (1 April 2020, to 10 May 2020). These actions suggest how to transform an object from an undesirable status to a desirable status by incurring less cost and high profit. This article aims to propose a work that generates actionable patterns efficiently. It reduces the search space and number of iterations for attribute value change during action generation. Performance of the proposed method is compared with Yang's method and OF-CEAMA on the basis of four parameters i.e. the total number of rules required for action generation, run time of the methods, the total number of generated actions, total net profit and time and space complexity. Experiments have been carried out on four datasets retrieved from UCI Machine learning repository. Experimental results show that the proposed work takes less time than the other two methods to extract actions for all datasets. Also, the number of rules required to generate actions are less than the other two methods. Results also suggest that a decrease in execution time does not compromise the information and proposed work generates the same actions and net profit. Moreover, the proposed work tries to transfer an object from undesired status to the desired status. Understanding properties and interactions of CD20 antigens is quintessential for developing better targeted agents and overcoming resistance. It has not been clearly established yet whether CD20 antigen density corresponds with response to Rituximab. Flow cytometry is still the most widely used technique to detect CD20 level in human serum which is expensive, time consuming and does not reveal any details of interaction between the molecules. We have developed a new innovative biosensor based novel technique to study real time interaction of CD20 antigens with Rituximab using QCM Piezo-immunosensor. This quantitative label free peptide based assay can be used to characterize cell surface antigen, to study antigen- antibody inte...

This imposes significant challenges for managing video traffic efficiently to ensure an acceptable quality-of-experience (QoE) for the end users as the perceptual quality of video content strongly depends on the properties of the display device and the viewing conditions. State-of-the-art full-reference objective video quality assessment algorithms do not take into account the combined impact of display device properties, viewing conditions, and video resolution while performing video quality assessment. We performed a subjective study in order to understand the impact of aforementioned factors on perceptual video QoE. We also propose a fullreference video QoE measure, named SSIMplus (https://ece.uwaterloo.ca/~z70wang/research/ssimplus/), that provides real-time prediction of the perceptual quality of a video based on human visual system behaviors, video content characteristics (such as spatial and temporal complexity, and video resolution), display device properties (such as screen size, resolution, and brightness), and viewing conditions (such as viewing distance and angle). Experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art video quality measures in terms of accuracy and speed.

Decolorization study showed that P. ostreatus was able to decolorize 96% Synazol Red HF6BN in 24 days. It was also found that 94% Synazol Red HF6BN containing dye effluent was decolorized by P. ostreatus after 30 days of incubation at room temperature. The enzyme exhibited highest activity at 70°C and at pH 6.0. The enzyme activity was enhanced in the presence of metal cations. High performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed that this fungal strain is capable of degrading Synazol Red HF6BN dye into metabolites. The observation of no zones of inhibition on agar plates and growth of Vigna radiata in the presence of dye extracted sample indicated that the fungal degraded dye metabolites are nontoxic to beneficial micro-flora and plant growth. Therefore, P. ostreatus has promising potential in colour removal from textile wastewater containing azo dyes.

How to deliver videos to consumers over the network for optimal quality-of-experience (QoE) has b... more How to deliver videos to consumers over the network for optimal quality-of-experience (QoE) has been the central goal of modern video delivery services. Surprisingly, regardless of the large volume of videos being delivered everyday through various systems attempting to improve visual QoE, the actual QoE of end consumers is not properly assessed, not to say using QoE as the key factor in making critical decisions at the video hosting, network and receiving sites. Real-world video streaming systems typically use bitrate as the main video presentation quality indicator, but using the same bitrate to encode different video content could result in drastically different visual QoE, which is further affected by the display device and viewing condition of each individual consumer who receives the video. To correct this, we have to put QoE back to the driver's seat and redesign the video delivery systems. To achieve this goal, a major challenge is to find an objective video presentation QoE predictor that is accurate, fast, easy-to-use, display device adaptive, and provides meaningful QoE predictions across resolution and content. We propose to use the newly developed SSIMplus index (https: //ece.uwaterloo.ca/~z70wang/research/ssimplus/) for this role. We demonstrate that based on SSIMplus, one can develop a smart adaptive video streaming strategy that leads to much smoother visual QoE impossible to achieve using existing adaptive bitrate video streaming approaches. Furthermore, SSIMplus finds many more applications, in live and file-based quality monitoring, in benchmarking video encoders and transcoders, and in guiding network resource allocations.

Understanding and quantifying such perceptual artifacts play important roles in the development of effective video compression, streaming and quality enhancement systems. Moreover, the characteristics of compression artifacts evolve over time due to the continuous adoption of novel coding structures and strategies during the development of new video compression standards. In this paper, we reexamine the perceptual artifacts created by standard video compression, summarizing commonly observed spatial and temporal perceptual distortions in compressed video, with emphasis on the perceptual temporal artifacts that have not been well identified or accounted for in previous studies. Recently evolved workflow systems contributed a lot towards scientific data integration by exploiting ontologies. Even though they offer good means for modeling computational workflows, they were proved not to be sufficiently strong in addressing data related issues in a transparent and structured manner. The DaltOn system improves the productivity of scientists by providing a framework which copes with these issues in a transparent and well structured manner. In this paper we will elaborate its application in a real world scenario taken from meteorological research where data are retrieved from a sensor network and are integrated into a central scientific database.
