Drawing on industrial organization and institutional theories, it was hypothesized that the influence of industry concentration (an index of firm rivalry) on new venture internationalization changes with the deepening of economic liberalization processes. An analysis of new ventures from 67 Indian industries from 1996 to 2014 suggests that the relation between industry concentration and new venture internationalization shifts gradually from a U-shaped relation to an inverted U-shaped relation during this time period. Implications for the generalizability of research in an emerging economy across time are discussed. Keywords Emerging economies. Industry concentration. New venture internationalization. India Research on new venture internationalization emerged in the late 1980s and grew rapidly as scholars strove to understand the antecedents and implications of this new phenomenon that appeared to contradict traditional international business frameworks (Oviatt & McDougall, 1994). While the bulk of early research focused on the internationalization of new ventures in developed countries, there has been an evolving, albeit

The first is to study the link between SMEs internationalizing at an early stage and the attitudes of their decision makers toward internationalization. The second is to analyze this relationship in an international context (India and France). We thus propose to contribute to a better understanding of the factors behind internationalization. To meet these objectives, we used an original methodology: decision makers' practices were studied using the scenario method. The assessment of attitudes toward internationalization was carried out using a new multidimensional scale of measurement. The measurement tool was distributed to decision makers in French and Indian SMEs. A database of 234 respondents was used. This research presents three main results: we found that the decision makers of SMEs with a very positive attitude towards internationalization are more conducive to internationalizing early than others but that the opposite is not always true. Contrary to our expectations, we observed that French decision makers are more favorable to internationalization than Indians. Finally, we identified that Indian decision makers are more likely to internationalize early than the French. ! In the 1990s, a surge in investment flows from emerging countries to developed markets (North-South) and to other emerging markets (South-South) followed the opening of economies such as China and India. This phenomenon is very pronounced today and opens up interesting opportunities for research into international expansion strategies, especially the internationalization trials of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Filling this gap would help to understand the internationalization process more accurately. Furthermore, as noted by Federico Federico, Kantis, Rialp & Rialp (2009), there is a lack of research into international entrepreneurship (IE) in emerging countries. ! One of the first research topics to emerge in IE was focused on Born Globals and International New Ventures (INVs), firms that internationalize early and fast. Rennie (1993) and Oviatt & McDougall (1994) did pioneering work on INVs twenty years ago. A burgeoning literature has emerged since, reflecting the growing number of firms in the last thirty years that started to internationalize as soon as they came into being (Zucchella, Palamara & Denicolai, 2007). The temporal dimension is one of three key dimensions of INV theory, along with scope and extent (Madsen, 2013). Seen by some as essential in the internationalization process (Jones & Coviello, 2005), the temporal dimension is "one of the most important concepts for gaining a true understanding of how the internationalization processes develop" (Casillas & Acedo, 2013: 16). The literature shows that, the role of leader in Business Model Innovation is important and unexplored phenomenon. A model is created which is the replication of the model depicting relationship between leadership and innovation. The case on an entrepreneurial firm is used to understand this phenomenon and the model. The leader of an animation firm has been observed closely. The leader, his partners and employees of the firm has been interviewed multiple times. The findings and analysis show that, in this organization, leader is a trigger for Business Model Innovation but this case fails to find his influence in the process or execution of Business Model Innovation.

The focus of this qualitative research was to study small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector in India with the purpose of understanding how institutional voids affect the drivers of innovation. We find that in presence of regulatory institutional voids such as an absence of explicit innovation policy frameworks, technical support and information, trusted government administration and safety nets, and formal finance institutions, SME entrepreneurs take recourse to a range of normative and cognitive institutions to support their innovation goals. Specifically, the SMEs owners use local cultural norms and public awareness as reference framework as well as international quality norms standards. Moreover, information is sourced via informal ties and networks in the personal sphere and business contacts, both locally and internationally. A last critical norm obse...

It also explains how these strategic choices affect the performance of new ventures in terms of survival and growth. Two case studies were done on two new ventures funded by Center of Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship in IIMA, and after analysis it was found that, entrepreneurial characteristics influence the strategic choices related to resources, strategy formulation and strategic alliances and these choices affect the performance of the new ventures.

This paper tries to study impact of various cognitive factors, attitude, tolerance for ambiguity, proactivity, intuition and international orientation, on speed of internationalisation in new ventures. Primary data was collected from 149 French and 98 Indian SMEs. The results showed decision makers' attitude towards internationalisation affect firm's early internationalisation, it was found positive in India while negative in France. Interestingly decision makers with high intuition were found first to focus on domestic markets and later enter into international markets. International orientation is very important for early internationalisation in new ventures in France.

As an extension of that, this study aims to examine the relationship between Muslim populations and the prevalence of entrepreneurial activity across nations. Integrated with institutional theory, the authors also consider formal and informal institutional variables as contingency factors in this milieu. So, it further investigates if the strategic intervention of formal and informal institutions moderates the relationship between religion and entrepreneurship. Design/methodology/approach This study uses multi-source data sets from the association of religious data archive, global entrepreneurship monitor and the World Bank. The sample includes 88 countries for analysis, aggregated from 2012 to 2014. The ordinary least squares regression using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) Stat...

Researchers felt importance of using management theories in heritage management research domain. This paper tries to focus on this call for research. It aims to study the value network in heritage walk organisations for creating shared value - a form of value that Porter and Kramer describe, in placing social and community needs before profit. It studies value network in three heritage walks organized by three organisations in Ahmedabad city in western part of India. It covers three cases studies of these walks that cover architecture, communities, craft, food and other elements of living and non-living heritage. This study is exploratory in nature. It shows the impact of these walks on various stakeholders under nine dimensions of value network framework.
