The cDNA has a length of 2583 bp which encodes a polypeptide of 860 amino acid residues with predicted pI value of 4.6 and molecular weight of 93 kDa. Amino acid analysis of BGLA from four different isolates of A. niger, isolates ATCC10574, ATCC1015, B1 and CBS513.88, detected a total of 29 amino acids differences. The degree of differences varies between different variants, from 0.46% up to 2.9%. Around 34% of these differences were located in β-glucosidase two conserved domains, the glycosyl hydrolase family 3 N-terminal and the C-terminal domains. Both of the domains are important for the catalytic activity of the enzyme and these differences might contribute to different biophysical and biochemical enzyme properties. Heterologous expression of BGLA in methylotrophic yeast, Pichia pastoris has been carried out using methanol as inducer resulting in the production of recombinant protein with molecular weight around 90 kDa. β-glucosidase activity was detected from the culture filtrate using UVstimulated fluorescence of cleaved fluorescence substrate, 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucopyranoside (MUGlc). The specific activity of the crude recombinant enzyme for cellobiose hydrolysis was 18 U/mg.

This fungus produces an extracellular enzyme, cutinase, which has been implicated in the plant disease process. A cutin monomer, 16hydroxyhexadecanoic acid was used to induce cutinolytic esterase activity during saprophytic growth of G. cingulata. Cutinolytic esterase was induced in cultures grown in cutin monomer but was repressed by glucose. The pattern of cutinolytic activity obtained from the induction and enzyme assays correlates with the results of the Northern blot analyses. The cutinolytic activity and expression from this study demonstrates that the enzyme is tightly regulated by the cutin monomer, 16hydroxyhexadecanoic acid.

KM covers an extensive range of usefulness and sustains various sets of activities and supposed that the KM success, are the Key Success Factors (KSFs) on the contributions of quality and quantity to the system. Based on the existing literature, a research hypothesis has been developed and tested through the quantitative study. The data were collected through a questionnaire that was administrated among sample comprising 70 managers from the various private Malaysian firms. The outcomes confirm positive relationships between all five KFS parameters but there is a lack of leadership.

The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire which was administrated to a total sample of 200 managers. The response rate was 70% while 60% was usable questionnaires. Sample selection was based on convenience sampling. The analyses involved statistical methods such as reliability and validity tests and multiple regressions. The results indicated that SCM practices are related to SCR. The result also suggested that SCR is related to CA.

Malaysia currently accounts for 51% of world palm oil production and 62% of world exports. Thus, Malaysia is classified among the world's leading producer and exporter of palm oil products (MPOC, 2009). This industry consists of interrelated business activities that produce various palm oils products.

SMEs also play a very crucial role in supply chain management (SCM) as they may serve the roles of suppliers, producers, distributors and customers. However, adoption of SCM in Malaysian SMEs has not been broadly explored. Therefore, the authors propose a conceptual model by examining the moderating effects of contextual factors (firm size, firm age and supply chain length) on the relationship between SCM practices, namely, information sharing, strategic supplier partnership, customer relationship, material flow management, corporate culture and SCM performance in a single study. The study has important managerial implications as the findings will enable management of SMEs to understand progressive and highly varied SCM practices and contextual factors that contribute to the SCM performance and its effective implementation.

In the aspects of the developed countries, economic development, human capital, education and transportation cooperates a crucial role in inspiring people to live more comfortable. Malaysia has a Muslim majority population also successfully inspired in Islamic state. Islam is the official religion of Malaysia, however, there are still leaking of specific guidelines for Musolla specifications and standards to build and design the internal part of Musolla for Muslim accordingly to Islamic teachings or to their Creator's requirements. This study is to emphasize the significance of the design elements will emphasized Musolla area for users comfort, especially in the shopping center. Users often complain of inadequate size and narrow space when perform a Solah. The design which is not according to the standard design should be considered and referred to the authority of the local council. In this approach, the collecting data will establish the problems on the design standard of Musolla and the sizing of Musolla space. The study will describes variation of Musolla design and will identify the shopping center which is provided the Musolla area. This research has preparing some method such as observations, measurements and interviews to investigate and analysis the users' convenience. Besides that, these studies were improving by related purpose of Musolla design and accordance with the standards from the local authority.

Data analysis is focused on Anjung/Rumah Tangga, Serambi, and Rumah Ibu area. Qualitative research is analysed from the literature review and case study at Maliah Idin’s Melaka traditional house at Jasin, Melaka. The study found that the structure of the Melaka house played a significant role in creating built-in and loose type furniture. The built-in furniture is a space that has a combination of furniture function and the space structure. The furniture presents a manifestation of the Malay culture and the way of life

Malaysia is second in Asia and 21 st in the world in franchising development considering its inception in 1994. Under the Franchise Development Programme, the franchise business system has embarked on the business system as smart, systematic, efficient and effective. By the 2000 there were 756 franchisees registered as compared to only 54 in 1995. Franchising has been described as a form of "business cloning" (Hoffman and Prebles, 1993) and has advocated as a business format franchisers seek to have franchisees replicate in their local community an entire business concept, including product or services, trade name and methods of operations. Previous studies have indicated that business format franchising is the fastest growing business and have identified that the failu...

There has been relatively little research that examines the relationship between strategic orientations, such as entrepreneurial orientation, market orientation, organizational innovations and their consequences on firm performance in developing countries. This paper represents an attempt to do so from the Malaysian perspectives. A response rate of 398 SMEs in Malaysia and the findings show that the entrepreneurial orientation and innovativeness exert a positive effect on firm business performance, market orientation exhibits a negative effect on firm performance. The external environmental factors do have a moderating effect on the relationship between market orientation and firm performance. This paper provide recommendations for e...
