Thus, the learning of Arabic may be a shortcoming if it does not equip learners with the world-readiness to function in the language and interact in the Arabic culture. World-readiness has been defined in terms of the standards for foreign language learning. These standards correspond to ‘The Five C’s.’: Communication, Culture, Connection, Comparison and Community. Previous studies on these standards have predominantly focused on the main instructional language curriculum. The contribution of co-curricular activities to the realization of world-readiness received less research attention. Thus, this paper seeks to report the contribution of debates to the world-readiness of non-native learners of Arabic at the tertiary level. This investigation is part of a larger study on the impact of debate to learners’ language development. Qualitative data were collected through observations of debate training sessions and subsequent interviews with four debaters. Data were analyzed thematically and those related to world-readiness were identified and discussed. These preliminary findings show that debates as an activity for learners of Arabic as a foreign language contribute to the achievement of four of the 5C’s: communication, culture, connection and community goals. These findings support the importance of debates in foreign language learning as a powerful tool in equipping learners with world-readiness. This review used a qualitative method, involving data retrieval and content analysis. Among the analyzed documents include journal articles, dissertation, books, working papers and proceeding seminars. The result shows that a balaghah testing and assessment is not given adequate emphasis, and the balaghah test is still lack of application aspects. Based on this finding, the recommendation of this review is to develop an instrument as an model for Balaghah Test in Higher Education Level (UPBal).

Many studies of Arabic sentences adopt traditional grammatical methods, and less so methods in modern linguistics. This study aims to (i) identify the themes of previous studies related to the analysis of Arabic sentence structures; (ii) detect gaps found in previous studies of Arabic sentence structures; and (iii) highlight issues that can be used as new studies in the future. This study reviews literature on Arabic sentence structures reported in theses, dissertations, journals, books and seminar proceedings. The major themes emerge from this review: (i) Dominant sentence pattern in Arabic structure; (ii) Syntactical elements (iii) The results of the study on sentence construction showed that the dominant form of Arabic sentences was studied by twelve researchers, sentence elements were studied by ten researchers, sentence pattern issues were studied by five researchers, while discussion on sentence construction changes was conducted by three researchers. This study found that the type of sentence that is important for the study is the fi'liyyah type sentence, based on this type of sentence is the dominant sentence and the Arabic language is dominated by the fi ' liyyah sentence pattern. The focus of the type of fi ' liyyah sentence is the passive sentence. It is found that there are many aspects of syntactic structure of passive sentences have not been explained, especially through the latest language theory.

This was a quantitative study using questionnaires as a research instrument for obtaining data. A total of 272 students were involved in this study. The method of analysis used was descriptive. The data obtained were analysed using the SPSS version 24.0 software to obtain percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The findings showed that respondents' perceptions of factors affecting the implementation of mobile learning and the level of readiness of mobile learning are at a high level. Hence, the concept of mobile learning is very useful in learning Arabic in this new era of learning. In addition, the findings showed that students had sufficient knowledge and awareness to use mobile technology in their educational environment. This study is very useful for those who want to develop mobile learning applications.

Based on the literature review, the study found the possibility of integrating the gamification strategy with learner-centered learner approach, and to use it to increase the students' interaction and engagement and to encourage them to participate and practice the Arabic language.
