This email abuse is commonly known as spam, which contains advertisements, phishing scams, and even malware. This study purpose to know the classification of email spam with ham using the KNN method as an effort to reduce the amount of spam. KNN can classify spam or ham in an email by checking it using a different K value approach. The results of the classification evaluation using confusion matrix resulted in the KNN method with a value of K = 1 having the highest accuracy value of 91.4%. From the results of the study, it is known that the optimization of the K value in KNN using frequency distribution clustering can produce high accuracy of 100%, while k-means clustering produces an accuracy of 99%. So based on the results of the existing accuracy values, the frequency distribution clustering and k-means clustering can be used to optimize the K-optimal value of the KNN in the classification of existing spa...

Using a genetic algorithm to find optimal solutions requires effective chromosome representations, parameters, and operator genetic to obtain efficient search. This paper proposes a new chromosome representation and also finding efficient genetic parameters to solve the proportional tuition fees assessment problem. The results of applying the new chromosome representation are compared with another chromosome representation in the previous study. The evaluations show that the proposed chromosome representation obtains better results than the other in both execution time required and the quality of the solutions.

The Extended Dijkstra’s algorithm considers not only the edge weights, but also the node weights to find the nearest server for a requesting client. The proposed algorithm also considers the link load in order to avoid congestion. We use Pyretic to implement the proposed algorithm and compare it with related ones under the Abilene network topology with the Mininet emulation tool. As shown by the comparisons, the proposed algorithm outperforms the others in term of the network end-to-end latency, throughput and response time at the expense of a little heavier computation load and more memory usage on the SDN controller.

An implementation of that standard as the MAC Protocol in a high-density of nodes in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) may create a performance drawback, in particular for packet loss and delay whenever collisions happen. Introducing Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) schemes can improve the performance. However, TDMA scheduling is difficult to manage the case of high-density of traffic, the high mobility of vehicles, and dynamic network topology. This journal proposes a clustered-based TDMA by traffic priority in VANETs. The clustered traffic is defined as high and low traffic priority and embedded in TDMA MAC Header. The evaluation result obtained through NS3 Simulator shows that the proposed approach performed better in a high-density of nodes.

However, it is often difficult to conduct hands-on practices in many locations due to lack of resources such as PCs and network equipments. The cost of gathering lecturers and participants at one hands-on site is another possible problem in this situation. Utilization of remotely located handson environment is one of the solution to solve these problems. StarBED is a testbed facility for conducting network experiments. Installation of any OSes, adjusting the network topologies according to the requirements can be easily realized utilizing StarBED and SpringOS. A software suite, SpringOS, was developed exclusively for automating the experiment setups in StarBED. This facility could be used to address the problems of lack of resources and high cost for traveling. This research conducted a region-wide remote hands-on workshop utilizing the StarBED inviting 42 participants from 10 Asian countries. The workshop was designed so that the remote participants do not have to travel to single place, and prepare same specification PCs at each site. This paper presents ODMT (On-demand Inter-domain Multicast Tunneling), an on-demand inter-provider multicast tunneling that is autonomous in operation and manageable through its definable policy control. In the architectural design, we propose a new approach of enabling inter-provider multicast by decoupling the control-plane and forwarding-plane. Focusing on the control-plane without changing the forwardingplane, our solution changes the traditional open multicast service model into a more manageable service model in inter-domain multicast operation, hence it eases the Internet-wide multicast deployment.

There are three approaches presented with different implementations of laboratory technologies and learning models. The design challenge is to address the limitations of resources at region-wide learning sites, cost-effectiveness and scalability. Computer virtualization and StarBED computing testbed can achieve a larger scale of laboratory size with less cost of equipment and administration workload. The live learning environment ensures quality of realtime communications during lecture and lab sessions by employing IPv6 Multicast on a satellite UDLR network. The self-paced learning environment is proposed to enable a flexible schedule, resource reusability, and scalability. The lab supervision system is the key component to enhance teaching effectiveness in the self-paced hands-on practice by systematically automating the lab supervision skills of lecturers. These approaches have been evaluated as feasible, cost-effective and scalable by the real implementations of similar Asia-wide workshops. Trade-off overheads and analysis on technology and pedagogy perspectives are made to compare their characteristics.

In particular, this paper improves the probabilistic-polling-based approach by deriving a reference mean value as the reference control value for the number of expected feedback from the properties of a binomial estimation model. As a result, our method adaptively changes its estimation parameters depending on the feedback from receivers in order to achieve a fast estimate time with high accuracy, while preventing the possible occurrence of feedback implosion. Our experimental implementation and evaluation on PlanetLab showed that the proposed method effectively controls the number of feedback and accurately estimates the size of a dynamic multicast group.
