The project aims to analyze the failure of glass/epoxy and graphite/epoxy laminates and investiga... more The project aims to analyze the failure of glass/epoxy and graphite/epoxy laminates and investigates failure behavior of glass-graphite/epoxy hybrid composite with the numerical and experimental approach. Finite element simulation using ANSYS v15 is used to determine the first ply failure (FPF) and last ply failure (LPF) loads. The hybrid effect to glass-graphite/epoxy will be replicated and analyzed using with a various angle of fiber orientation (θ = 0°, 45° and 90°) subjected to the uniaxial tensile test. Maximum Stress Theory and Tsai-Wu Failure Criteria are employed to determine the failure load (failure index = 1). In numerical approach, failure behavior of the two different composite laminates has been analyzed. The failure curves (FPF and LPF) for both theories (Maximum Stress Theory and Tsai-Wu) are plotted and found to be close to each other. Dadah selalunya digunakan dalam bidang perubatan bagi meningkatkan tahap kesihatan pesakit dengan... more Dadah selalunya digunakan dalam bidang perubatan bagi meningkatkan tahap kesihatan pesakit dengan merawat mereka dengan dadah tertentu berdasarkan penyakit mereka. Namun demikian terdapat segelintir pihak yang menyalahgunakan dadah bagi kepentingan mereka. Selain itu, terdapat pelbagai jenis dadah berbahaya yang mempunyai sifat-sifat seperti dadah perubatan biasa dan ini secara tidak langsung boleh mengeliru dan melambatkan kerja saintis forensik untuk mengenalpasti jenis dadah. Antara masalah yang dihadapi adalah tiada sistem penyaringan dadah yang khusus, tiada pangkalan data berkenaan dadah serta hasil keputusan yang diperolehi memakan masa yang lama. Justeru itu, Sistem Analisis Dadah Menggunakan Rantaian Ke Hadapan Berasaskan Pengkalan Pengetahuan ini dibangunkan bagi mengatasi masalah itu dengan menyimpan pengetahuan tentang langkah-langkah pengkelasan dadah bagi membantu mempercepatkan pemeriksaan dadah. Sistem ini dibangunkan dengan menggunakan kaedah dan teknik berasaskan sistem pakar serta metodologi prototaip sebagai kitar hayat pembangunannya. Perwakilan pengetahuan yang digunakan di dalam pembangunan sistem ini adalah berasaskan peraturan yang menggunakan Carian Ke Hadapan.

Cognitive demand review of test item is one of vetting committee roles, in which test item must be checked to test higher cognitive level rather than simple recall. This study aimed to investigate the effect of MCQ vetting process on its cognitive level. Summary of Work: A different types of MCQs (10 X-type, 10 A-type, and 10 R-type) were requested from faculty members in a medical school. They were vetted by a central vetting committee there. A panel of medical educationists (4 members) was asked to check cognitive level pre and post vetting. Two cognitive taxonomies (Buckwalter and Bloom) were used as a tool to check cognitive level. Kappa coefficient was used to assess the agreement level between panel members (pre and post). To determine the association between carotid femoral pulse wave velocity (PWVCF); augmentation in... more To determine the association between carotid femoral pulse wave velocity (PWVCF); augmentation index (AI); and high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) with metabolic syndrome (MetS), and to determine the influence of ethnicity on PWVCF and AI, and the association between high hs-CRP and increased PWV, and AI in MetS. A cross-sectional study was conducted at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 2009 to September 2011. Three hundred and eighty men (Chinese and Malays) were recruited from the study. The PWVCF and AI were measured by Vicorder (SMT Medical, Wuerzburg, Germany). The hs-CRP level was also determined. We defined MetS using the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and harmonized criteria. Malays had higher AI compared to the Malaysian Chinese. This paper presents the comparison study of the motion analysis between the transradial prostheti... more This paper presents the comparison study of the motion analysis between the transradial prosthetics and the biological hand that focuses on the supination/pronation and flexion/extension movements. The design of the new transradial prosthetics is based on combining the new approach on both body-powered prosthetics and electric-powered prosthetics. Two servo motors were used to generate the transradial motion while the shoulder ultrasonic sensor functioned as the input for the biomechatronics system. This paper briefly describes the kinetics and kinematics data of motion analyses that focus on the degree of maximum and minimum rotation of each motion. The data analysis of the transradial prosthetics is compared with the biological hand motion.
