Multicultural identity is a significant predictive factor in assessing intercultural communication competence. Cultural competencies are essential in today’s businesses. This research is a systematic attempt to look into the antecedents of these constructs in Malaysian educational contexts given the growing importance of educators’ involvement in society's integration. Multicultural factors complement Intercultural communication skills, and this has an impact on the development and effectiveness of organisations/institutions as well as success and performance at work. These attributes are surprisingly underrated in their careers. The role of multicultural identity in determining intercultural communication competency is addressed using Amiot et al. (2007) and Barrett et al. (2013) indicators, respectively, using the structural equation modelling. Therefore, 350 respon...

Journal of Information Technology Management (JITM), 2023

The rapid growth and advancement of electronic devices and technologies in the FinTech industry e... more The rapid growth and advancement of electronic devices and technologies in the FinTech industry empower new innovative products and services. The covid-19 pandemic could have a devastating effect on Malaysia's economy, but it has offered additional opportunities for the E-wallet segment of the Fintech business to thrive. The E-wallet segment of FinTech is one of the latest innovations that is currently growing as there is a need for contactless payments during the pandemic situation. The main objective of the study is to examine the factors affecting e-wallet adoption among young adults in Malaysia. A sample of 200 responses was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.0. The findings revealed that the factors of "performance expectancy", "effort expectancy", "compatibility", and "social influence" have a positive and significant impact during the pandemic; however, the factor of "facilitating conditions" has no significant impact on the adoption of the E-wallets. The study substantiates the key and important variables of adoption in order to develop and evolve E-wallet providers' existing services. Particularly, due to the increasing importance of e-commerce, E-wallet service providers are urged to focus on the system's interoperability, which encourages individuals or customers to use the strategy. They should include unique features that allow customers to accept the service, trust its benefits and feel comfortable using the technology. The study is useful to the E-wallet providers to improve the existing services. The findings also guide the companies offering E-wallets to enhance the usage and adoption of their services.

Therefore, measuring life satisfaction of women is important to see their view of life. Life satisfaction measures the overall satisfaction in life. The aim of this study is to determine whether there are differences in life satisfaction among working women in Malaysian from the perspectives of demographic characteristics. The measure of life satisfaction was based on the Life Satisfaction Scale. Purposive random sampling method was used to choose the sample. The analysis is based on responses of 302 working women. Independent t-test and one-way ANOVA is used to the test the variables. Overall, the life satisfaction of the working women was found to be moderate in the study. The results of the study found significant differences in life satisfaction with regards to marital status, age, occupation, income, spouse’s education and spouse’s income. It has caused an interested on how customers can be satisfied through this mode of shopping among the marketing and research world. Generation Y is the generation that has grown with the information technology phenomena. They are a group who is comfortable and has a high motivation to shop online. Therefore, the current study focuses on factors affecting customer satisfaction in online shopping among Generation Y. This study investigates whether the four factors (privacy and security, perceived risk, trust and ease of use) affects customer satisfaction. Questionnaire was used as the method of data collection. The respondents are those referred as Generation Y. Multiple regression analysis is used as the statistical analysis method to test the hypotheses. The result indicates that all the four factors tested affect customer satisfaction in online shopping among Generation Y. This study sheds light on the major fact...

Cultural patterns are expressed through communication facilitating better understanding between diverse cultural groups. Intercultural communication competence based on ethnicity is explained by employing structural equation modelling using Barrett and colleagues' (2013) indicators of attitude, knowledge and skills. These three constructs are hypothesized to explain intercultural communication competence and its effect on well-being and performance. Purposive sampling via a self-administered survey involved 288 Malaysian educators from higher education. The findings confirm that both endogenous constructs -- well-being and team performance -- can be used as predictive factors to assess intercultural communication competence.

As a result, companies are compelled to seek various ways to enhance their operations. Researchers realised that optimization of various departments separately would not guarantee overall optimization. This led the Researchers to focus on the effect of integrated approach and proven significant cost reduction on the overall operational costs. This paper provides a review on coordinated models in the literature and the role of heuristic approaches to solve such coordinated models. The review found that genetic algorithm plays a vital role in solving complex coordinated problems. The article also identifies the areas that are rarely addressed in coordinated models and genetic algorithms.

This is more evident in today's fast growing age of technology-oriented products which demand constant enhancement. The study is aimed at understanding the significant influence of perceived enjoyment, perceived satisfaction, perceived usefulness and perceived service quality factors on the consumers’ behavioural intention on e-commerce adoption in Malaysia. This study was based on four hypotheses which were tested to identify their significant level of influence on the dependant variable, the consumers’ behavioural intention. The findings and analysis were based on secondary data references and primary data were collected through an administered questionnaire to 500 respondents. This study confirms that consumers look at enjoyment, satisfaction, usefulness and service quality as having significant influence on their behavioural intention in the e-commerce industry.

There are two research questions that need to be addressed: 1) How to allocate jobs on machines ? 2) How to sequence jobs on each machine? Therefore, this research aims to find an efficient solution method that answers the research questions with the goal of minimizing the total weighted tardiness with the presence of sequence dependent setup times. Due to the complexity of the problem at hand, the authors have developed genetic algorithm to find a solution to this problem. Furthermore, various dispatching rules were used to enhance the performance of the genetic algorithm in terms of the total weighted tardiness value.

The Police Stress Inventory was developed based on the interviews with police staff and experts in police administration for this study. The questionnaire was administered to a random sample of 220 police personnel. The respondents rated the job situations as least stressful (0%) to most stressful (100%). They consider the organizational and social aspects of their job are more stressful especially round the clock duty, lack of time for family, political pressures from outside and inadequate facilities. Results indicate that stress is due more to organisational factors than to physical hazards on the job. Efforts should be made by police administration to take corrective measures such as changes within organization and improving training programs.
