Background : Nutrition counseling in HIV patients based on the phenomenon that often occurs still shows deficiencies. In fact, nutritional counseling can support the fulfillment of nutrition in PLWHA. Nutrition counseling for PLWHA has been found to be inconclusive for managing nutrition in HIV care and the availability of evidence for nutritional counseling practices in HIV care appears inconsistent. Meanwhile, in other studies, it is stated that nutritional counseling is able to assist in fulfilling nutrition for PLWHA so that it can improve the quality of life of PLWHA. Thus, this research is expected to assist in the fulfillment of nutrition for patients infected with HIV/AIDS by conducting counseling. Methods: The design of this research is literature review. Results: The results of a review of 7 articles found that providing nutrition is a very important part for HIV AIDS patients. Therefore, the management and improvement of nutrition must be in line with the level of nutrition for HIV AIDS patients. Nutrition needs to be applied because it can help in meeting the nutritional status of HIV AIDS patients. The nutritional status of HIV AIDS patients is vulnerable to decline, due to infection with the HIV virus itself. Thus, nutrition counseling can play a role in encouraging HIV AIDS patients to better understand nutrition appropriately according to their condition. Sample: The total number of samples obtained from the results of the Literature Review is 2,842 respondents Discussion: Patients infected with the HIV virus must maintain their immune system. So, it is very important to meet the nutritional needs properly. Nutrition counseling is one of the most important components in a nutrition program that aims to assist patients in increasing energy intake in order to maintain weight, practice safe infant feeding, practice safe food or air handling and manage HIV- related diseases.
