MATERIAL AND METHODS: In our study 50 patients were included with 70% male and 30% female with 4-16 years of age group and 70% unilateral and 30% bilateral foot involvement. Patients were admitted and operated in different free disabled surgical camps at Chhattisgarh state over the period of 36 months (1 may 2004 to 30 th April 2007). Improvement in functional ability and locomotion of all operated patients were assessed by physical and clinical examination. RESULTS: All patients who were operated in our study showed significant improvement in functional ability and locomotion after surgery. All patients were maintaining functional ability at follow up duration of 12 months (1 year). 75% patients were walking normally, 10% cases were walking with internal rotation of leg and 5% cases were walking with midtarsal varus foot with AFO with medial bar support. CONCLUSION: Our study showed and established that excellent results can be obtained in congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV) patients by soft tissue release with bony corrective surgery. The team work of devoted surgeons, paramedical and rehabilitation staff in whole duration of camps to achieve the goal. With an aim to help more number of CTEV cases by surgery, our team has started doing surgeries in small institutions, and organize charity camps to help poor patients and mankind even in small clinics. INTRODUCTION: The commonly called clubfoot is scientifically called congenital talipes equinovarus has a tendency to show relapse irrespective of the treatment either with conservative management or surgical management, and was described by Hippocrates in 400 BC. Congenital talipes equino varus (CTEV) deformity is most common congenital disability of the foot in our country. (1) In every 1000 birth one child is having CTEV. (2) CTEV may be associated with joint laxity, congenital dislocation of the hip, tibial torsion, ray anomalies of the foot absences of some tarsal bones and a history of other foot anomalies in the family. (3) Of all these bones most relevant for this congenital deformity are the talus, calcaneus and navicular. The calcaneus and navicular are medially rotated in relation to the talus. The foot is held in adduction and inversion by ligaments and muscles. (4) Cases of congenital talipes equino varus are neglected due to illiteracy, poverty, ignorance and lack of proper health services especially in villages. A disabled person in the family becomes nonearning and seems to be burden to family unless rehabilitated. Conservative management plays vital role and becomes useful if reported early. In India it is popularly known as Raga Chikitsa. The present study was intended to determine efficacy of music therapy using raga-based Bollywood songs amongst prediabetic. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAM-A) was used to quantify the severity of anxiety symptomatology. Thirty prediabetic were included in the study were subjected to music therapy session for 20 minutes using raga-based Bollywood songs from Hansdhwani, Yaman, Darbari etc. The blood pressure, blood sugar and HAM A clinical Anxiety Scale score was noted down before and after the session. The post therapy fall in the blood sugar (t =6.14, P < 0.05) and systolic blood pressure (t = 5.12, P < 0.05) was statistically significant. The change in the diastolic blood pressure (t = 3.39, P > 0.05) was insignificant. There was decrease in the CAS...

The MCI is a statutory body that deals with the establishment of norms and standards for the Medical Education in India. These standards include the requisites for a proper infrastructure and other necessities for the smooth running of the undergraduate as well as the post graduate courses in Medicine. There are a couple of aspects that need to be crucially considered . Medium of the instructions and changes in curriculum.. The present study was intended to evaluate the students perspectives for proposed change in curriculum by Vision 2015 and to prepare and propose a module to be followed for poor performer due to lack of linguistic skills. In the medical colleges where students are predominantly coming from tribal area, linguistic skills are one of the major problem in imparting medical education. Inclusion of the module in medical English and terminology will be helpful in improving the performance of poor performers in university examination

Yogic exercise and Pranayam may modulate cardiovascular function. To assess the cardiovascular parameter in control and study group. We selected 90 healthy volunteers between age group 35-50 years and divided into two groups. i) Study group-45 ii) Control group-45. Control group was not doing any type of exercise or yoga during 1 yr of period whereas yoga group did yogic exercise for 1 yr under supervision of yoga expert. In both the group heart rate SBP and DBP evaluate at 0, 6 and 12 month period. In control group heart rate, SBP, and DBP showed no significant change at 0, 6, and 12 month reading, whereas study group (yoga) 81.96±5.65 showed significant decreased heart rate From 81.96 ±5.

Objective of study is to assess cold pressor response in study and control groups. We selected 90 healthy volunteers between age group 35-50 years and divided into 2 groups. (1) Study group-45. (2) Control group-45. Control group does not perform any yoga or exercise during one year period, whereas yoga group (study group) performs yoga for one year under supervision of yoga expert in yoga centre. In both the groups, cold pressor response was recorded at 0, 6 and 12 months. In control group, cold pressor response shows no significant change whereas study group showed significant reduction in rise from 18.13±2.97 to 13.55 ± 2.00 at 6 months and 13.11 ± 1.76 at 12 months showing F value-65.33 (P value<0.001) which is highly significant. Rise in DBP also decreased from 15.11± 2.97 to 11.15 ± 1.83 at 6 months and 11.11 ± 1.82 at 12 months showing F-value 45.75 (P<0.001) which is also highly significant in study group. In conclusion, yoga done regularly for longterm improves sympathetic functions (CPR).

Stress relaxation techniques of yogic exercise might prove beneficial. Nadishodhan Pranayama, Bhramari and Omkar recitation are used to evaluate the effect of these yogic exercises on autonomic functions and performance of future medical professionals. Preclinical Knowledge Score was 14% in cases and 10% in control group. Modulation of sympathetic and parasympathetic activity thereby improving autonomic functions of body and thereby improved performance output was the outcome of the study. ________________________________________ Introduction The integrated teaching and learning methodology where assessment forms important signpost, inclusion of stress relaxation techniques in modern education system is the need of hour1.
