Background: The quality of online health-related information may affect users’ understanding and ... more Background: The quality of online health-related information may affect users’ understanding and medical decision-making with dramatic impact, particularly in case of stroke. Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the quality of information about stroke on the Romanian and Hungarian websites in terms of completeness and accuracy. Methods: The research was designed as an observational cross-sectional study. The sample included 25 Romanian and 25 Hungarian websites presenting information about stroke for the general public. General characteristics such as website ownership, main goal, website genre and medical approach were identified by the evaluators using a predetermined set of common instructions. The completeness and accuracy of the information were assessed by two independent assessors against a quality benchmark. Results: Overall, most of the websites were owned by private commercial companies (42%), had educational goal (66%), were designed as medical web-portals...

LSsungen der folgenden Reineckeat-Analoga: [Cr(NCS)a(o-Toluidin)2]-, [Cr(lqCS)4(m-Toluidin)2]-und [Cr(NCS)4(p Toluidin)2]-und Hexammin-, Monoacido-pentammin-und Dlaeido-tetrammin-kobalt(III)-komplexsalze erhalten. Es wurden in einigen F~llen Abweichungen in physikochemischen Eigenschaften, wie Farbt6nung, Kristallform, LSs-]ichkeit und papierchromatographische RF-Werte, bei den stellungsisomeren Salzen vom Typus: Kation 9 [Cr(NCS)4(Toluidin)u] und auch bei den Koordinationsisomerpaaren: [Co(DH)2(o-Toluidin) 2][Cr(NCS)4(p-Toluidin)2] und [Co(DH)2(p-Toluidin)2] [Cr(NCS)4(o-Toluidin)2], usw. beobachtet. There is a great need in experimental biology for tools to study interactions between biological ... more There is a great need in experimental biology for tools to study interactions between biological molecules and to profile expression levels of large numbers of proteins. This paper describes the fabrication, packaging and testing of a resonant mass sensor for the detection of biomolecules in a microfluidic format. The transducer employs a suspended microchannel as the resonating element, thereby avoiding the problems of damping and viscous drag that normally degrade the sensitivity of resonant sensors in liquid. Our device differs from a vibrating tube densitometer in that the channel is very thin, which enables the detection of molecules that bind to the channel walls; this provides a path to specificity via molecular recognition by immobilized receptors. The fabrication is based on a sacrificial polysilicon process with low-stress lowpressure chemical-vapor deposited (LPCVD) silicon nitride as the structural material, and the resonator is vacuum packaged on the wafer scale using glass frit bonding. Packaged resonators exhibit a sensitivity of 0.8 ppm (ng cm 2) and a mechanical quality factor of up to 700. To the best of our knowledge, this quality factor is among the highest so far reported for resonant sensors with comparable surface mass sensitivity in liquid. [1720]

Es wurden 13 neue Komplexsalze mit den Anion [Cr(NCS)4(p-Anisidin)2]− dargestellt und die Solvata... more Es wurden 13 neue Komplexsalze mit den Anion [Cr(NCS)4(p-Anisidin)2]− dargestellt und die Solvatationskinetik dieses Anions in Äthanol–Wasser-Mischungen untersucht. Danach kann man die folgende Reaktionsschemata annehmen. Die ersten zwei NCS−-Ionen werden gegen Wassermolekeln ausgetauscht. In sauren Lösungen wird die Geschwindigkeit dieser Reaktion nicht von der Lösungsmittelzusammensetzung beeinflußt. Parallel zu dieser Reaktion werden die p-Anisidinmolekln gegen Äthanol ausgetauscht. Diese Reaktion wird durch Wasserstoffionen beschleunigt. In den entstehenden Komplexionen sind die ersten zwei NCS−-Ionen ebenfalls gegen Wasser ausgetauscht. Die Geschwindigkeitskonstanten dieser Reaktion sind von der gleichen Größenordnung wie die Geschwindigkeitskonstanten der Reaktion, die zum Austausch der ersten zwei NCS−-Ionen aus dem ursprünglichen Komplexion führt. Die dritten und vierten NCS−-Ionen werden nur in neutralen Lösungen gegen Wasser ausgetauscht. Kinetische Parameter für den Austausch der ersten zwei NCS−-Ionen und der p-Anisidinmolekeln wurden ermittelt.13 new complex salts of the [Cr(NCS)4(p-anisidine)2]− have been synthesized and the solvation kinetics of this anion has been studied in ethanol-water mixtures. The first two NCS− ions are exchanged for water molecules. In acid solutions the rate of this reaction is not influenced by the solvent composition.In parallel with this reaction, p-anisidine molecules are substituted, too, by ethanol molecules. (Acceleration by hydrogen ions.) In the resulting complex ion the first two NCS− ions are substituted, too, by water molecules. The rate constants of this reaction are rather close to those of the reaction which leads to the exchange of the first two NCS− ions in the initial complex. The third and fourth NCS− ions are substituted only in neutral solutions by water molecules. Kinetic parameters have been derived for the substitution of the first two NCS− ions and for the substitution of the p-anisidine molecules.

Background: Finding accurate health-related information on the Internet may be a real challenge f... more Background: Finding accurate health-related information on the Internet may be a real challenge for users lacking the critical skills necessary to assess the validity of online content, even if they browse websites that are compliant with credibility criteria. The aim of the study was to check whether an overall high website credibility or compliance to any of the individual criteria for credibility are correlated/associated with a higher quality of health-related information on a sample of Romanian and Hungarian stroke-related websites. Methods: The cross-sectional study included a sample of 50 websites presenting stroke for the general population in Romanian and Hungarian language. The websites’ compliance with 12 widely recognized credibility criteria, and the completeness and accuracy of the stroke-related articles found on the respective sites were systematically assessed by two independent evaluators applying a common evaluation procedure.
