This bottom-up principle embedded in building the thriving Jewish community is fundamentally diff... more This bottom-up principle embedded in building the thriving Jewish community is fundamentally different from the top-down approaches predominant in other societies. Typical societies operate based on the policies instantiated or legislated at a higher level and propagated down in a hierarchical manner. Thirty-four centuries of the Jewish civilization are based on the fostering bottom-up approach where the commandments, laws pertinent to the individual behavior are the fundamental step to effective communal building.

A novel methodology and algorithm for the design of large low-power asynchronous systems are desc... more A novel methodology and algorithm for the design of large low-power asynchronous systems are described. The system is synthesized by a commercial tool as a synchronous circuit, and subsequently converted into an asynchronous one. The conversion algorithm consists of extracting input and output sets, replacing the storage elements, identifying fork and join sets, and constructing request and acknowledge networks. A DLAP (Doubly Latched Asynchronous Pipeline) architecture is employed. The resulting asynchronous circuit can adapt its effective operating frequency to the supply voltage, facilitating flexible and efficient power management. The algorithm has been validated on several circuits.

Cautiously addressing a span of almost thirty-four centuries, I am fully aware of the analytic hi... more Cautiously addressing a span of almost thirty-four centuries, I am fully aware of the analytic hiatus involved in trying to bridge between documented scholarship on one hand and a mixture of rabbinic texts, inference, historical memory, and imagination on the other. Using a mathematical apparatus for the analysis of such delicate subject is another challenge we had to overcome. We think this is critical to explain the hypothesis of the Devine regulation model, examining the timeline from the Exodus to our days. The Jewish world is analyzed in this model as one system underlying a joint mission, where each individual carries a proper share and weight of this divine task.
