This study aims to examine the poverty among fisherfolk in Panipahan Village, Pasir Limau Kapas S... more This study aims to examine the poverty among fisherfolk in Panipahan Village, Pasir Limau Kapas Sub-district. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The findings indicate that the cultural poverty experienced by the fisherfolk in Panipahan Village is attributed to a set of cultural norms and lifestyle patterns that have become ingrained in their mindset and worldview. The fisherfolk tend to perceive their income from fishing as only sufficient to meet their daily needs, leading them to be reluctant to save or invest their earnings for future ventures. This way of life is then passed down from generation to generation. The study concludes that the poverty experienced by the fisherfolk is a result of a culture, mindset, and impoverished way of life that are inherited and shape their approach to daily living and economic opportunities.
