Iatrogenic type leg length inequality prevalence is getting higher recently, because of increasing number of hip and knee surgery parallel to the increasing number of elder people in population. We presented four cases, who had low back pain due to degenerative scoliosis caused by leg length inequality. Case 1, 2 and 3 were elder people who had previous knee or hip surgery. Case 4 was a young lady who had low back pain due to degenerative scoliosis and leg length inequality and she had no previous surgery. In Case 1, 2 and 3, leg length inequality was iatrogenic type which was caused by hip or knee surgery. This iatrogenic leg length inequality caused degenerative scoliosis same as in case 4, who had anatomical leg length inequality. Iatrogenic leg length inequality may cause degenerative scoliosis, thus low back pain. Scoliosis caused by leg length inequality cannot be compensated by elder people or even young people whose abdominal muscles week.

Clinical and neuroradiological data was collected from the data of 39 adult cases who were retrospectively evaluated. The origin of the haemorrhage were found in 59% of cases from aneurysms, in 18% from traumatic, in 8% from hypertension and in 5% from arteriovenous malformation. In remaining 10% of cases, the origin of haemon-hage was intracerebral haemorrhage. The EVD drainage system was used in 56% of cases. The mortality rate was 67%. We concluded that aneurysmatic and traumatic intraventricular haemorrhages have high mortality rate. EVD is an effective method in the patient with intraventricular ha...

Despite its safeness as a percutaneous method in treating disc diseases, die effectiveness and results of this method has been one of the most controversial subjects. 108 applications of PLDD in 102 cases were followed-up clinically and radiologically for a mean of 19.4±0.7 months. Applications in regard to disc intervals were L34 in 4, L4_5 in 85 and L5-Sj in 13 patients. Results were reported according to Mac Nab criterias. Results were perfect in 30 cases (%29.4), good in 28 cases (%27.4) and no change in 20 (%19.6) cases. Complains were increased in 24 (%23.5) cases. Open surgery was performed on 16 cases (%15.6) following PLDD. We concluded that PLDD is a practical procedure when applied with appropriate indications, has no significant complications and causes no obstacles open surgery. Perkutan Lazer ...

Split cord malformations with a fibrous, cartilaginous or bony band or spicule separating the spinal cord into hemicords, can occur as an isolated defect or either with a myelomeningocele or a lipomyelomeningocele. The occurrence of split cord malformations with lipomyelomeningocele is relatively rare in the pediatric neurosurgical practice. In this report, we present a one month old baby who had right leg monoparesis, with lipomyelomeningocele and split cord malformations with lipomyelomeningocele is relatively rare in the pediatric neurosurgical practice. Third nerve palsy as a result of posttraumatic nuclear involvement is an extremely rare condition. A 23-year-old man presented with a depressed skull fracture after acute head trauma and had Glasgow Coma Scale Score of 9. The diameters of the pupils were 6.5 and 7.5 mm and they were not reactive to light stimulation. There was bilateral ptosis. Computed tomography (CT) relieved bilateral perimesensephalic pneumocephalus. We suggested that bilateral oculomotor nerve paresis might develop in association with posttraumatic bilateral perimesensephalic pneumocephalus, which affected the nucleus of the third nerve.
