This project aims to contribute to the development of the study of the urban morphology of Mozamb... more This project aims to contribute to the development of the study of the urban morphology of Mozambican cities and especially the city of Matola, since there are no scientific papers that show the contours of its urban, demographic, industrial growth and the urban morphology created since its inception, in the colonial period, up to our days, going through processes resulting from the economic, social and political situation. Thus, this work tries to analyse the historical process of the city of Matola, passing from city hall, in the colonial period, to executive council in the postindependence period and later to municipal council; explain its growth and how it is done the occupation of the territory by the inhabitants and the implantation of diverse infrastructures. This explanation concludes with the analysis of the type of city existing in Matola, taking into account the influence of the city of Maputo and the conflicts resulting from the legal right and customary right of ownership.
