Women economic empowerment is one of the strategies aimed at enabling women in decision making, i... more Women economic empowerment is one of the strategies aimed at enabling women in decision making, increment in income and asset ownership. The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of micro finance through Amhara credit and saving institution on women economic empowerment. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches were used to obtain a reliable data. Data were derived from a questionnaire of a sample of 346 women clients of Amhara Credit and Saving Institution. In addition, six focus group discussions were conducted involving 48 women while in depth interviews were carried out with 6 micro finance leaders, and experts. Multiple Regressions, Independent t-test, Analysis of variance were employed for data analysis. The Regression result revealed that age, marital status, education level, credit amount, number of training have significant impact on women’s economic empowerment. The effects of sales promotion on the creation of brand equity; effects of brand equity dimension... more The effects of sales promotion on the creation of brand equity; effects of brand equity dimensions on overall brand equity; and the nature of inter-relationship among brand equity dimensions is a new area of research in Ethiopia. By adapting exploratory approach, the study assumed a positive sales promotion-brand equity dimensions-overall brand equity linkage in the Ethiopian beer market. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to verify the conceptual model, that is, the hypothesized linkage. The study is purely quantitative and a cross-sectional descriptive research design was applied. The study confirmed brand equity is a multidimensional concept that consists of brand loyalty, perceived quality and brand associations. Brand loyalty exerts a great influence on the formulation of brand equity and it is a holistic concept. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in engagement and organizational cit... more The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in engagement and organizational citizenship behaviour of employees between public and private insurance sectors in Ethiopia, found in East Africa. It further explored the relationship between components of employee engagement and organizational citizenship behaviour in both settings. The current study employed quantitative research method, cross-sectional design, and stratified random sampling from 307 employees. Findings of the study were as follows: First, employees who are working in private insurance sector had a greater level of engagement and organizational citizenship behaviour than employees who are working in public sector. Second, every component of employee engagement (vigour, dedication, and absorption) had a positive and significant relationship with organizational citizenship behaviour in both

The study adapts an exploratory approach to measure the effects of advertising spending and event sponsorship effect on consumer-based brand equity because there is no study conducted in the Ethiopia beer market. Accordingly, the study assumes advertising spending and event sponsorships affecting brand equity dimensions positively. Hence, a conceptual model has been built and structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to verify the model. A quantitative research was undertaken and a cross-sectional descriptive survey research design in nature was applied in the study. The study confirmed that from advertising spending intensity: television advertising spending has a positive effect on brand awareness; and outdoor advertising has a positive effect on brand awareness, brand association, and perceived quality.
