Child abuse is an increasing concern globally and is known to have significant negative effects o... more Child abuse is an increasing concern globally and is known to have significant negative effects on the physical and psychological well-being of children and how this end up causing an impact-big or small-on them as they grew into adults. This study aims to understand the impact that childhood incidents with a negatively traumatising impact and its effect on the everyday life on an individual adult. This is done using a 28 item version of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire among females and males of the ages between 20 and 30 years to check: (i) the effect on young female adults and (ii) the effect on young male adults and (iii) the attitudes of both through gender analysis and percentage analysis. This study was conducted in India and the questionnaire distributed amongst the individuals through Google Forms and other online platforms. The results showed that women are prone to victimization of sexual abuse when compared to male but male victims of physical abuse and physical neglect is higher than female. However, equal tendency of victimization of male and female for emotional neglect and emotional abuse is concluded.
