The primary health care institution contributes to the rural development. However, reasonable access of primary health care has not been attained in most of the African nations. Incorporating the community based management project in rural health care strategies, seems to be the best approach to run rural primary health care project. Study used both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to obtain data on the implementation of LEEMP (local empowerment primary health care delivery project) in Adamawa State of Nigeria. The result shows that the Project has impacted positively to some rural communities in the state. However, there still issues in terms of distribution and access of medical facilities non-implementation of health care strategies, improper management of resources, and improper participation of the communities. This paper implies that effective incorpor...

However the progress of poverty reduction was limited in Nigeria. The Local Empowerment and Environmental Management Project (LEEMP) was introduced as a new Community Driven Poverty Reduction Programmes under MDGs. This study aims to examine and evaluate the effectiveness of LEEMP and the factors that determine its performance. A total of 36 villages were selected through multistage sampling techniques in nine local government areas in Adamawa State of Nigeria. The samples selected for the study include 30 villages that implemented the infrastructure components projects of LEEMP and six villages that implemented economic components of LEEMP. The main data for the analysis was collected from household surveys covering 500 respondents for the evaluation of the ...
This paper attempt to investigate rates of generation, and composition of municipal solid waste (... more This paper attempt to investigate rates of generation, and composition of municipal solid waste (MSW) in different constituencies of Jimeta-Yola, and examine the strategies use for solid waste management in the metropolis. JimetaYola, over the recent times has witness an influx of population in the metropolis due to the increased in urbanisation and this has led to increase in consumption of goods and services with consequence increased in rate of generation (MSW) of municipal solid waste .The research used both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to evaluate data on solid waste in Jimeta. The findings revealed that the waste generation rates varies according to the constituencies. These generation rates were 0.78, 0.75 and 0.58 kg/capital/day for Gwadabawa, Karewa, and Nassarawo wards respectively.Other were 0.43, and 0.42kg/capita/day for Limawa and Runde wards. Accumulation of municipal solid waste (MSW) threatens to become a global problem for Ukraine. Recently only one incineration plant is functioning in the country giving heat energy for heating and hot water supply to the Kiev district heating system. European principles of waste management laid the basis for a National waste management strategy in Ukraine till 2030, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine [2]. The Strategy defines the basic directions on state regulation in sphere of waste treatment with taking into account the EU approaches on waste management [4]. The Strategy determines also priorities of development in secondary use for material and energy resources of wastes components. According to Strategy 5,000 centers for separate collection MSW, 250 centers for reuse, about 800 MSW processing plant and 20 waste-to-energy plants are to be built by 2030. For the Strategy implementation the National Waste Management Plan is being developed. By 2020 the regional centers should develop regional plans on wastes management. Now the local administrations are working on local programs of MSW management. The selection of MSW management system should be based on studying of social and demographic situation in each settlement, volume and MSW composition, ecological and energy characteristics of MSW components. After analysis of the current situation an optimum system for collection, processing and waste removal is accepted. For the system implementation should revising the practical means. This paper shows the composition analysis as to the

Inco-prorating the community based management project in rural development strategies seems to be the best approach to implement rural development project. The study used both qualitative and quantitative research techniques to obtain data on the implementation of LEEMP (local empowerment and environmental management project). The result shows that the project has impacted positively to rural development of some rural communities in the state. However, there were challenges discovered, which include non-inclusion of some stake holders because of social class or due to political affiliations, while projects are not evenly distributed among communities of serious needs. This paper implies that effective incorporation of rural communities in the managements of rural development projects requires full community participation in the development process. This requires collective action, which ties the community on values, sustainable maintenance of infrastructures, and improvements, in cultures, of environmental conservation and economics benefits into rural development, with balancing the aim of sustaining social infrastructures, environmental management and poverty alleviation.
