Hence, Selangor stated its focus on creating new business ventures and opportunities through variety of sectors and industries such as big data analysis and industrial 4.0 revolutionary. To support all of these development processes, residences wellbeing factor is one of the factors to be focused on. This study is conducted to determine the differences between level of income and the status well-being among the residences. Using 1200 residences as a sample using stratified sampling technique, the result indicated that there is a significant difference between the four levels of income on environmental factor and economical factor. The indication of four levels of income is <RM 1000 per month, between RM 1001 and RM 5000, RM 5001 and RM 10,000, and more than RM 10,001. The result is obtained using analysis of variance (ANOVA). This indicates that respondents from a higher income level could afford a more conducive living environment and these individuals would choose to live with neighbors that are of highly educated. However, they are also satisfied with the authority’s effort in helping the poor. On the economic side of the findings, respondents from higher income level are more financially sound compared to those from the lower income level. This finding might give other dimension for the administrators to advance their strategies in creating full-fledged of smart state in future undertaking.

However, would the taxpayers, particularly the working citizens, be satisfied with the implementation? Would they understand the GST legislation? And would the computation of GST be burdensome to them? This study attempts to answer the above research questions by looking at Malaysian working citizens' perspectives on the matter. The participants of the study were the employees who work in firms that process the GST transactions. We investigated the positive and negative reactions towards GST implementation among the working citizens. Importantly, we evaluated the influence of income on their perceptions. Selangor is ranked the highest by contributing 23% of its National Gross National Product to Malaysia. Nevertheless, for social indicators, Selangor ranked fourth in the country. Social development was not at par with the fast-growing economy and the extensive physical developments that take place. Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to determine the role of education in shaping ... more Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to determine the role of education in shaping the well-being of the people in Selangor, Malaysia. Specifically, we traced the linkages between education and three well-being attributes: economic, health, and emotion. Methodology: To collect the data, this study distributed a survey questionnaire to 1304 people in 12 municipalities of Selangor, Malaysia. The questionnaire recorded information about the people’s agreement on a variety of statements related to well-being and education. Besides, demographic information was also collected for demographic profile analysis. To analyze the data, we utilized the SmartPLS3 to test the SEM-PLS model. Main Findings: The SEM-PLS results revealed education significantly linked with emotions. The main aspect of education responsible for shaping emotion is access to good education providers in their area. The objectives of this study are twofold: (a) to examine the influence of students’ learning styl... more The objectives of this study are twofold: (a) to examine the influence of students’ learning styles on their academic performance; and (b) to identifies the preferred learning styles of students between high/low achievers, gender, and different clusters. By using VARK standard questionnaire, 433 undergraduate students from four faculties at the Private University in Selangor are used as observations for this study. The study finds that all students were unimodal learners and Kinesthetic (K) type of learning style is the learner type with the most number of students. High achievers are preferred Kinesthetic (K) learning style while Read/Write (R) learning style is more practiced by students with low achievement. Male students are more preferred Kinesthetic (K) learning style, but female students had a preference for Visual (V) learning style. Social science students are more preferred an Aural (A) as compared to the pure science students which are more preferred Read/Write (R) learni...
Lecturers have been bogged down with a lot of roles: Lecturer, researcher, administrator, counsel... more Lecturers have been bogged down with a lot of roles: Lecturer, researcher, administrator, counselor, and many others. Can they juggle these multiroles in their daily life effectively? What factors matter to their work-life balance (WLB)? Lecturer is a crucial asset to universities to ensure excellent students can be produced. This study is to identify main variables that influence Malaysian WLB. 120 lecturers from public and private universities were chosen as respondents. Partial least squares-structural equation modeling analysis was used and the results showed that health factor as a mediator (P = 0.000), family factor (P = 0.000), work factor (P = 0.021), and flexible hours factor (P = 0.001) have significant effects toward WLB. Family factor (F 2 = 0.662) and health factor (F 2 = 0.414) contributed a large effect on the WLB. The value of R 2 for this model with the mediator, is 0.305.
