Adolescence in girls has been recognized as a special period between the ages of 10 to 19 years w... more Adolescence in girls has been recognized as a special period between the ages of 10 to 19 years which signifies the transition from girlhood to womanhood. During puberty, hormonal, psychological, cognitive and physical changes occur simultaneously and interactively making physiological development a challenge adolescents have to face, with emotional, social and behavioural dimensions. 1 Menstruation is an important process of female reproductive cycle, but menstrual dysfunction in adolescent girls may affect the normal life of adolescence girls. Most of the adolescents' girls were affected by premenstrual syndrome symptoms like dysmenorrheal, menorrhagia, metrorrhagia. 2 It is a menstrual disorder which is very common among teenagers and young women. This focuses more on somatic symptoms such as fatigue, abdominal bloating, breast tenderness, headache, and swelling in the extremities as well as affective symptoms include irritability, angry outbursts, irritability, depression, confusion, anxiety and social withdrawal. 3

In Nepal, the government is tackling this issue by providing MNP/Baal Vita supplements to children aged 6-23 months, alongside promoting community-based infant and young child feeding (IYCF). This strategy aims to combat anaemia and micronutrient deficiencies in children under 2 years old. The government's protocol indicates that each child in this age group should consume a total of 180 sachets, 80% consumption of total sachets was taken reference for compliance in this study. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study using a structured questionnaire was carried out among 198 participants. Simple random sampling was used for selecting a sample. Introduction: Emergency contraception (ECPs) is hormonal contraception that is used within 72 to ... more Introduction: Emergency contraception (ECPs) is hormonal contraception that is used within 72 to 120 hours after unprotected and unsafe sexual intercourse for the prevention of unintended pregnancies. It is important to prevent unwanted pregnancy and there by induced abortion. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and practice on ECPs among non-health bachelor level female students in Kathmandu. Methodology: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study of 388 female respondents at non-health bachelor colleges in Kathmandu, Nepal. Simple random sampling technique was used. Pre-tested self-administered questionnaire were used for data collection. Result: The study analyzed the knowledge levels of the study participants, finding that 55.15% had adequate knowledge, while 44.84% had inadequate knowledge. 21.64% practiced ECPs. Abortion in Nepal was legalized in 2002, and the first legal abortion services started on March 18, 2004 (Safe Abortion Law). In developing regions, approximately 99% of the global maternal deaths in 2015 and early 8% of maternal deaths are abortion-related. Unsafe abortion is a public health concern because of its serious reproductive health consequences and impact on maternal morbidity and mortality. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 384 undergraduate students in colleges in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. This study aims to assess the prevalence and associated factors of open defecation among secondary school students in Kolhabi Municipality. Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted among 196 secondary school students of Kolhabi Municipality, Bara district. The objective of this study is to identify the knowledge, attitude, experience and management on pre-menstrual syndrome among higher secondary level adolescence girls’ students of Kirtipur Municipality of Kathmandu district. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 322 adolescence girl students of higher secondary school of Kritipur Municipality using pre-tested self-administered questionnaire. Results: The mean age of the respondents was 17 years. It was found that 90.2% of the respondent had very poor knowledge on premenstrual syndrome and 9.2% of the respondent had fair /below average knowledge regarding PMS. Methods: A community-based, cross-sectional study was conducted among 197 elderly people in Surnaya Rural Municipality, Baitadi.
