Only the images of anomalies of pulmonary veins are presented.Compared with different radiological techniques, CT offers many advantages, as it can be undertaken even in neonates, yields more information than MR in a very little time, is better than 2D echo, when there is a small inter-costal window in some infants and is noninvasive. This study proved useful for further medical/surgical management.

The main purpose of this study was to analyze the use of Mannitol and Meglumine Diatrizoate on patients undergoing CT abdomen for quantitative and qualitative comparison of small bowel enhancement. Materials and Methods: A total of 100 consecutive patients referred to Radio diagnosis department between November 2018 and July 2019 for 16 slice MDCT of the abdomen and pelvis with intravenous contrast enhancement were randomly selected. Patients will be divided into two groups comprising 50 patients each receiving 3% Mannitol and Meglumine Diatrizoate. Patients were selected on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. A case record proforma was prepared for each patient. Each subject received 1200 ml of oral contrast. Group 1 received 3% mannitol in water and group 2 received diluted iodinated positive contrast. Results: Quantitative analysis showed statistical significant (p < 0.001) superiority of Mannitol for bowel wall delineation. Qualitative analysis for bowel distension, fold visibility, intraluminal homogeneity, artifacts and overall image quality show better cores with Mannitol. Interobserver agreement between two radiologist ranges from 0.491 to 0.95. Conclusion: Mannitol as endoluminal contrast increases the diagnostic accuracy of the investigative studies in comparison to iodine-based contrast by producing significantly better visibility of mural features with improved image quality without additional adverse effects.

The main purpose of this study was to assess the injuries occurring to temporal bone in case of trauma. Material and Methods: Institutional Ethical Committee Approval was taken prior to commencement of the present study. Written and informed consent was taken from all patients for including them into this study. Patients were selected on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria. A case record proforma was prepared for each patient. A total of 50 patients referred to Radio diagnosis department between February 2013 and February 2014 were selected with history of trauma and ear bleed or swelling or hearing loss following trauma. All patients were scanned on Siemens 64 slice CT scanner. Results: Ossicular injuries are not so common in cases of trauma. Fractures and hemorrhage in the middle ear was more common. We got 5 cases of ossicular injury after assessing 50 cases of trauma to ear. The incus was more commonly involved in trauma than the malleus and stapes. Conclusion: Out of the 3 ossicles in the middle ear, the incus in the most commonly involved ossicle. This is thought to be due to firm attachment of the malleus to the tympanic membrane and stapes to the oval window.

The ectopic gland can develop along the tract of the duct to give rise to ectopic lingual, sublingual (pre-hyoid) or sub-hyoid (pyramidal) gland, with or without normal pre-tracheal thyroid gland. There are a few reports of double ectopia of thyroid but triple ectopia of thyroid is extremely rare. We have come across a case of triple thyroid ectopia, i.e., thyroid tissue at three locations along the tract of descent of thyro-glossal duct on CT, which hast been rarely reported in the world literature, and hence this report.

We present an account and atlas of coronary artery variants and anomalies culled from a database ... more We present an account and atlas of coronary artery variants and anomalies culled from a database of more than 15000 CT coronary angiographies (CTCA) carried out on a 16-slice Siemens scanner (Somatom 16, Erlangen, Germany) from November 2004 till March 2008 at our institute. Except for a few patients with a prior history of angina, established myocardial infarction, or intervention in the form of coronary stenting or bypass surgery, all the rest underwent the investigation as part of a health checkup package that off ered CTCA as an additional investigation. Over the past few years, several workers have described coronary artery variants and anomalies as identifi ed on catheter angiographies. Angelino et al, [1] described various minor anomalies in the branching pattern of coronary arteries and in the location of the cusps and reported an incidence of anomalies in about 1% of the general population. From our own experience with CTCAs, most of which were performed on asymptomatic people rather than on symptomatic subjects, we too are of the opinion that the incidence of coronary variants and anomalies is under 1% in the general population. Aft er the introduction and establishment of CTCA as an alternative to catheter angiography, a few articles have been published on the detection of such variations and anomalies. Recently, Cademartiri et al, [2] have reported 100 (18%) anomalies from 543 consecutive CTCAs done using a 64-slice CT scanner. According to him, catheter angiography cannot detect ectopic openings of coronary
