Through her years of research using the Personality Systems Interactions Theory (PSI) she has discovered the problems and effects that state-oriented individuals face, and proposes several solutions and interventions that may benefit the self-regulatory process in these individuals. Along with studying school-aged children and University students, Baumann brought her work to the community of individuals who suffer from the effects of work craving. Her research has developed a work craving scale that future studies of these behaviors are based upon.
