Andy Kercher - Academia.edu (original) (raw)

Mr. Kercher is a creative whose work-style strengths lie in adaptability, intellection, ideation, restorative, positivity and persuasion. These led his interests examining the arts (visual fine arts, graphics, film and music) and their influence and affect in the development of historical culture, influenced by traditional religion and modernity.

After a career in graphic arts, his educational work included the history and practical applications of the fine arts, graphic design, and film in his K-8 curriculum design and instruction. He has done neuroscience research about aesthetic learning, emotional intelligence, giftedness, and a specialised subject study on the affect of arts education on cognitive recovery in TBI survivors. He has taken an integrated role in social issues including brain injury and disabilities awareness, ethnic relations, parenting and family law.

He completed his master of education in September 2013 from Doane University, Nebraska's premier teaching college, after working a decade in both Colorado and Nebraska as a K-12 art teacher. He currently lives in the Boston area where he has reassessed his career in public education and business to care for his elder parents until their decease 2022-23.

He also carries two bachelor degrees, one in biblical literature from Columbia International University and the other in the fine arts from the University of South Carolina.
