The movement of backbone is driven by cable wires through the main. The kinematic characteristics of the continuum robot are demonstrated by modeling the kinematics of its flexible backbone. The relationship between the joint variables in joint space and the position variables in workspace is shown by building the kinematic equations based on some specific assumptions. The lengths of driving cables of each section are calculated based on the results of the inverse kinematics problem. The geometries of support disks are considered while calculating the lengths of driving cables. The results of this research can be used to design the control system.

The enzyme concentration (%), ethanol:material ratio (mL/g), ultrasonic duration (min), ultrasonic temperature (°C), and ultrasonic power (W) were all studied as factors impacting triterpenoid content. The experiment was developed using the Plackett–Burman model to filter out the influencing factors and choose the component that has the greatest impact on the triterpenoid content in order to improve the extraction conditions using the Box–Benhken model. The result showed that the highest triterpenoid content of 11.65 mg/g could be obtained under extraction conditions including enzyme concentration of 2.5 %, ethanol:material ratio of 20:1 mL/g, and ultrasonic power of 480 W. The results of gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry analysis showed the presence of more phytochemicals in the extract obtained using UAEE compared with the maceration method. Scanning electron microscopy images were used to confirm the assistance of enzymes and ultrasound waves to disrupt the cell walls of G. lucidum. The antibacterial property of the extract by UAEE was evaluated against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella enterica and able to suppress the development of hepatocellular carcinoma, breast carcinoma, and epidermic carcinoma.

Those provisions generally contain exceptions to maintain a balance between the public interest on the one hand, and the interest of the disputing parties on the other hand in the fair and efficient resolution of the dispute. The two treaties Viet Nam has recently concluded, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), have stipulated the procedural transparency requirements, which are in line with a new trend of development in international invest...
A survey about view-invariant human action recognition

Many methods have been proposed and achieved promising results when the input video captured from the same viewpoints. However, their accuracy decreases significantly under viewpoint changing. The reason is that action appearance is quite different when looking from a different angle. To overcome this problem, many researchers have shifted their focus on how to develop a robust action recognition method where training and testing are carried on a different viewpoint. The aim of this paper is to give a systematic review of current methods for view-invariant action recognition and how they overcome the viewpoint change. Moreover, this paper also introduces multi-view action recognition datasets which are widely used for testing the view-invariant ability. Benchmarks of various techniques on these datasets are also provided to show the current state of research.

Many studies have shown that, factors of the consumption market, the infrastructure and resources, economic and political environment have a significant impact on the decision to choose an investment location, however the priority order of these factors are different for various research spaces. By studying the specific case of Viettel Group - one of the largest telecommunications groups in Vietnam that is having many international investment activities in recent years, the study has been verified the priority order of factors influencing the decision to choose an overseas investment location of this corporation. The research outcomes show that the group of factors that have the most influence on investment decisions is the group "Consumption market", more specifically, the sub-factor "Market Size" is ...

Robust Control of Industrial Propylene-Propane Fractionation Process
Computer Aided Chemical Engineering, 2015
Abstract The paper presents some results in the field of the industrial propylene-propane separat... more Abstract The paper presents some results in the field of the industrial propylene-propane separation process control. The process inputs and outputs, the quality specifications for the separated products and the possible pairs of control agents, based on the relative gain array, are analyzed. The analysis emphasized the fact that the control structure based on L and B control agents is the most suitable. Starting from this result two robust control structures for the quality of the separated products are developed. The first structure refers to the feedback control of the distillate quality, and the second structure is associated with feedforward control of top and bottom products quality. Each structure was tested using dynamic simulation for the same step input of the feed flowrate disturbance. Test results confirmed the superiority of feedforward control.

However, in a marketplace characterized by myriad choices and intense competition, getting consumers to discover and download an app, and foster consumer engagement and stickiness are probably the biggest challenges facing marketers today. This brings forth two important questions: what factors affect consumers' decision to use and stick to apps? What are the key outcomes of stickiness for both consumers and firms? This study maps the conceptual and research issues underlying consumers' decision journey and outcomes with respect to mobile apps. We build a framework based on the central tenets of interactivity combined with the insights gleaned from exploratory studies and a survey of interdisciplinary literature. We discuss the implications for research and practice in this emerging area of interest.

Methods: Using cross-sectional national data (unweighted sample = 6,421, weighted =76,508) from the Canadian Maternity Experiences Survey linked with 2006 Canadian census data, we categorized 25 health indicators of mothers of singletons into five groups of MCH outcomes (A. maternal and infant health status indicators; B. prenatal care; C. maternal experience of labor and delivery; D. neonatal medical care; and E. postpartum infant care and maternal perceptions of health care services). We then examined the association of these health indicators with individual socioeconomic position (SEP) (education and income), neighborhood SEP and combined SEP (a four-level measure of low and high individual and neighborhood SEP), and compared the magnitude (odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals) and direction of the associations within and between MCH outcome groups. Results: We observed consistent positive gradients of socioeconomic inequalities within most groups and for 23/25 MCH outcomes. However, more significant associations and stronger gradients were observed for the MCH outcomes in the maternal and infant health status group as opposed to other groups. The neonatal medical care outcomes were weakly associated with SEP. The direction of associations was negative between some SEP measures and HIV testing, timing of the first ultrasound, caesarean section, epidural for vaginal births, infant needing non-routine neonatal care after discharge and any breastfeeding at 3 or 6 months. Gradients were steep for individual SEP but moderate for neighborhood SEP. Combined SEP had no consistent gradients but the subcategory of low individual-high neighborhood SEP often showed the poorest health outcomes compared to the categories within this SEP grouping. Conclusion: By examining SEP gradients in multiple MCH outcomes categorized into groups of health care needs, we identified large and consistent inequalities both within and between these groups. Our results suggest differences in pathways and mechanisms contributing to SEP inequalities across groups of MCH outcomes that can be examined in future research and inform prioritization of policies for reducing these inequalities.

Relatively few research efforts have been made to examine differences in conceptualizations of IPV across populations of different race and ethnic backgrounds. Methods Using concept mapping methodology, we sampled 67 women and men identified concepts and groups of concepts (domains) that reflected their understandings of the behaviours and attitudes that comprised IPV. We also determined the relative importance of each concept and domain as a contributor to IPV. Results 'External and Cultural Influences', 'Victim Response to Abuse' and 'Social and Emotional Manipulation' were a few domains that participants rated as moderately or highly important contributors to IPV. These conceptual domains are often left out of commonly used IPV measures. Conclusions Our findings have important implications for the conceptualization of IPV and for future IPV measurement and measurement tool development.

We adopted the life course perspective to identify modifiable contextual influences and co-occurring individual, social, and familial determinants associated with adult criminality. Using in-depth interview data, a sub-sample of 13 women who had recently experienced intimate partner violence, recounted their experiences of childhood abuse, their own substance use or criminality, as well as implications of these factors on their children's life trajectories. For the purposes of this paper criminality was defined as child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, illegal substance use and underage alcohol use.
