Mackerel scad (Decapterus macarellus) is one of pelagic fish was economically and dominant landed... more Mackerel scad (Decapterus macarellus) is one of pelagic fish was economically and dominant landed in Fishing Port Installation of Tambakrejo Blitar Regency. Purpose of this research was to identify the biological and population dynamics aspects of mackerel scad in Tambakrejo waters. The research was conducted from November 2016 to March 2017. The research method was descriptive random sampling. Total sample in this research was 849 fishes where all of them were used to conduct Lc analysis while Lm analysis there were 428 fishes available. Result showed that length and weight relationship of total mackerel scad was isometric with b value = 2.96. Sex ratio of male and female was 1.15 : 1. Gonad maturity level was 44.16% immature and 55.84% mature. The values of Lm male and female were 26.75 cm and 26,11 cm respectively. The value of Lc was 27,50 cm. Length infinity (L∞) was 39.70 cm with growth rate (K) = 0.51 per year and t0 value = -0,296 year. Natural mortality (M) = 1.09 per year, fishing mortality (F) = 2.26 per year and total mortality (Z) = 3.35 per year. The value of exploitation rate (E) = 0.67 which indicated that fisheries resources in this area was overfishing.
