According to NICE guidelines, induction of labor leads to 15% of instrumental deliveries and 22% of total LSCS. In new civil hospital, Surat (according to 2017) failure of induction of labor was 2nd most common indication of LSCS. The objective of this study were to analyse labor induction with respect to indication for induction of labor and its maternal outcome so that we optimize our protocol of labor and reduce our LSCS rates for the same, can reduce feto-maternal morbidities also. Methods: This was prospective observational descriptive study carried out over duration of 6 month. 200 consecutive cases of consenting women requiring induction of labour and fulfilling inclusion criteria were selected. Induction was done with prostaglandin analogous. Data were collected includes age, parity, gestational age, bishop score, indication of induction, and maternal outc...

Methods: Study was conducted during the period of Jan 2006 to Oct 2007 in department of obstetrics and gynaecology, New civil Hospital, Surat. The study was conducted mainly with the help of department of radio-diagnosis. The study include 100 patient clinically suspected to have ovarian neoplasm and referred to department of radio-diagnosis where evaluation with Ultrasonography and Doppler was done. The efficacy of scoring systems were evaluated by histopathological examination of mass or fine needle aspiration cytology or presence of malignant cells in ascetic fluid. Results: Sassone's scoring system was able to identify 72 out of 78 benign masses and 18 out of 22 malignant masses.where as Alcazar system with use of colour Doppler was able to identify 75 out of 78 benign and 21 out of 22 malignant ovarian masses. Sensitivity and specificity of sassone is 81.8%,92.3% respectively, where as that of Alcazar is 95.5%, 96.2% respectively. Conclusion: Using both gray scale and colour Doppler in differentiating benign from malignant ovariam masses is giving results with more accuracy and Alcazar system is better performing than sassone's scoring systems.

The national prevalence of CS in India has modestly increased over the past 25 years. According to data from the National Family Health Survey, the national CS rate in 1992-93 was 2.6% and rose to 17.2% in 2015-16. Study objective was to evaluate fetomaternal outcome of Nullipara >=37wks pregnancy in spontaneous labor. Methods: This prospective observational study was done at Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of New Civil Hospital Surat for 6 months period after official approval from Ethical Committee. Results: In my study 65% subjects had normal vaginal delivery, 34% subjects had cesarean section and 1% had operative vaginal delivery. In comparison between total no. Of ANC visit and postpartum/intrapartum complication p-value is 0.003 which is p <0.05, which is significant, which suggests that women with 4 or less tota...
