The main problems are: low national economic performance and poor cross-country compatibility; significant wealth inequality and intergenerational inequity.
Poland has significantly exploited its potential of economic development since 1990’s, but still there is a potential to improve its inclusiveness in the way of rising median income, taking steps in lowering wealth inequality and improving intergenerational equity and sustainability.

The study was conducted within the framework of The German-Ukrainian University Technology Transfer Internship Program 2021 (GUTT.INUP 2021). The GUTT. INUP 2021 program was aimed at the exchange of pedagogical and research experience between universities in Germany and Ukraine, as well as at mutual acquaintance with the latest scientific achievements of German and Ukrainian scientists, including in the field of sustainable development. The University of Würzburg (Germany) has extensive experience in joining new member universities to the existing Bavarian Network for Sustainability in Higher Education, as well as in organizing and managing student activities in areas related to the implementation of a sustainable development strategy. At present, environmental education, the cultivation of an environmental outlook, and the involvement of students in the activities of universities aimed at implementing the basic principles of environmental sustainability as an important com...

The image of any country in the modern system of international relations depends not only on political, economic, military resources, but also on its ability to present itself through culture. That is why public or people's diplomacy is becoming more and more important in foreign policy, in which not only professional diplomats but also representatives of public organizations, business circles, science and education, culture and art, mass media, etc. take an active part. It is emphasized that in recent years a new direction of diplomacy has begun to develop – gastrodiplomacy. It has become an instrument of intercultural relations and relies on the resources of national cuisines. It is used at the dinner table to influence the thoughts and moods of politicians and world leaders, as well as ordinary citizens. Over the past two decades, many countries h...

Festival tourism is referred to the special types of tourism and should satisfy specific needs of people during the trip. The motivational basis of the festival tourism is the desire of people to visit new places, regions and events in the world, including festivals. The article analyzes the main factors of the development of festival tourism in the second half of the 20th century after the end of the Second World War. Six main groups of factors are determined, in particular: civilization, sociological and psychological factors; economic factors; political factors; technological factors; ecological factors and tourism as a factor in festival development. It was established that the progress of civilization and higher incomes made it possible to satisfy the basic social needs in the highly developed countries, as well as to concentrate on high-level needs, including those connected with culture and entertainment, thus, also with festivals. The collapse of the USSR and the democratization of the post-communist countries in Europe caused the appearance of a new cultural and entertainment activity. Moreover, the authorities began to take more and more responsibility for the socioeconomic development of cities and regions, including the cultural aspect, which in turn resulted in promotion of local festivals. The development of transport infrastructure and modern information technologies has also positively contributed to the development of festival tourism. The ecological approach to life and to civilization in general is considered to be an important factor in the development of festival tourism in recent years.

Analyzed scientific literature on the socioeconomic development of tourism in Ukraine found that empirical studies of statistical data are insufficiently presented. The authors used the method of extrapolation of trends to predict domestic tourist flows until 2025 and investigated the interpretation of the concept of "extrapolation". The study focuses on the quadratic and linear equations of the trend. The forecast values of the indicators of the number of tourists that the subjects of tourism of Ukraine will serve in 2021-2025 are given. The dynamics of the actual and forecast values of the number of tourists that the subjects of tourism of Ukraine serve are analyzed. The article deserves special attention to the problem of introducing elements of forecasting the development of the tourism industry and evaluating their effectiveness with the help of mathematical apparatus, and more simply-the use of economic and mathematical methods and models to solve management problems in tourism. To assess the degree of adequacy of the constructed trend equation to the real process, the average error of approximation of its value is calculated. 24.2% indicates that the degree of adequacy of the quadratic equation to the real conditions of the tourism industry of Ukraine is average. Studies based on the quadratic and linear equations of the trend allow the authors to determine which of the equations they constructed the calculated forecast (planned) values will have the highest accuracy, ie where the smallest deviations between actual and planned numbers of tourists served by sub objects of tourist activity of Ukraine. The issue of the consequences of the crisis caused by COVID-19 for the tourism industry in Ukraine and ways to solve them, promising ways to develop domestic tourism was raised.

Festivals are a rapidly developing phenomenon, which play a major role in the development of tourism. Travel to visit a festival may be treated as a separate type of tourism called festival tourism. It has a substantial influence on the tourist space. If the impacts are positive, they are referred to as functions of festival tourism. There are also negative impacts described as the dysfunctions of festival tourism. The article analyzes functions and dysfunctions of festival tourism in the context of four main elements of tourist space, namely: natural heritage, cultural heritage, infrastructure and man as a subject of tourist space. It has been established that festivals have an influence on the natural heritage, for example by promoting nature protection. They present material and nonmaterial culture, and attract tourists to cultural heritage sites. They are events which...
