This research article aims to investigate green public procurement as a tool for sustainable and ... more This research article aims to investigate green public procurement as a tool for sustainable and secure food policy on the example of Poland. The practical objective of the study is to present the application of an analyzed wide range policy tool supporting sustainable food consumption in Poland. First, the systematic literature review of regulatory and market-based tools with an overview on policy rationale was carried out. Second, to assess consumers' preferences on green public procurement, the exploratory survey with CAWI method in period from 1.01 to 31.03.2022 was conducted. Third, to quantify the survey results, one-way ANOVA analysis was applied. Fourth, to deepen only statistically significant dependencies between customers and green public procurement, Cluster Analysis was used. There are plenty interesting and applicative findings from the study. In a short time-horizon, the results show that there is a growing interest in market-based instruments on the food market expressed by consumers. Moreover, the consumers favor those that are less coercive and do not directly affect their freedom of food choice. The study found a high degree of match between green public procurement and established consumer clusters, which can be applied by state authorities in a long-time horizon.

In the light of current pandemic-related events, the exacerbation of the armed conflict on Ukrain... more In the light of current pandemic-related events, the exacerbation of the armed conflict on Ukrainian territory, and the increase in the price of fossil fuels, there has been a serious threat to the maintenance of resilient food chains, which can be countered by rationalizing the usage of raw materials and production sources, and increasing the use of post-production wastes of plant origin as a substitute for non-renewable energy. The aim of this research is to present the use of e-commerce instruments in sell-buy transactions of chosen coffee waste products. The theoretical part of the study consists of comparative and synthetic analyses. The revised public source of information coming from well-known organizations are used. The practical part of the study consists of in-depth expert structured interviews (N = 8). The results of the study are multi-faceted. The practical business examples shown in the article demonstrates the possibility of introducing a bio-circular economy on a large scale in Europe and Asia. The results can be used by state institutions for the implementation of a bio-circular economy policy in various types of production activities, e.g. biomass, bioenergy, feed, supplements, drugs to fight obesity and diabetes, cosmetics.

Badania dotyczyły ubojni, zakładów mięsnych, zakładów drobiarskich oraz przedsiębiorstw handlowo-usługowych w obrocie mięsem i wyrobami z mięsa. Celem głównym pracy było określenie na płaszczyźnie teoriopoznawczej, empirycznej oraz utylitarnej poziomu i zmian efektywności ekonomicznej przedsiębiorstw mięsnych w Polsce w latach 2010-2017. Dane finansowe pochodziły z bazy danych EMIS Intelligence/Professional i posłużyły do wyznaczenia zmian efektywności finansowej w latach 2010-2016 oraz efektywności technicznej w latach 2012-2015 dla 695 przedsiębiorstw mięsnych. Our paper focuses on assessing the role of state funding in supporting wind energy projects with ... more Our paper focuses on assessing the role of state funding in supporting wind energy projects with a focus on economic efficiency and risk assessment. In particular, we analyze the new program aimed at supporting Russian renewable energy (RE) projects envisaged for the period from 2024–2035 that involves a reduction in investments in such projects and the introduction of large fines for non-compliance with regulatory requirements for localization and export. These strict rules imposed by the regulatory authorities, as well as the withdrawal by foreign manufacturers of equipment for renewable energy from the domestic energy market, put into doubt the economic feasibility of the participation of sector players in state-supported programs. In addition, salinization jeopardizes agroecosystems, inducing salt stress in most cultivated plants (nutrient deficiency, pH and oxidative stress, biomass reduction), and directly affects the quality and quantity of food production. It discusses relevant methods and techniques for managing the eco-friendly production process in the examined food processing enterprises in Poland, and compares the situation in the world. The purpose of the paper was also to present the results of the questionnaire on greening of producing process in food processing entities. The results of the questionnaire are preceded by a detailed analysis of different approaches to greening of production, along with an assessment of its future development according to the requirements of EU directives for food processing enterprises in Poland. The aim of this paper was to examine the average price of toothpastes available on Polish cosmeti... more The aim of this paper was to examine the average price of toothpastes available on Polish cosmetic market in order to asses used pricing strategies by several large and medium international and domestic toothpastes' producers. The 8 leading cosmetics market participants include: Procter&Gamble (Blend-a-med), Colgate-Palmolive (Colgate, Colodent, Flurodent), Unilever (Signal), Henkel (Vademecum, Denivit), GlaxoSmithKli-ne (Aquafresh, Parodontax, Sensodyne), GABA International (Elmex, Meridol, Biodent), Church&Dwight (Pearls Drops) and Dr. Theiss Naturwaren (Lacalut). Polish cosmetics market is a very large, and because of the ongoing battle to hold on loyal but at the same time win new clients, a pro¿ table one. Strong inside competition on domestic market broadens and expands the range and diversity of cosmetic products. Toothpastes' producers act in the highly crowded and fragmented marketplace. There is a large presence of both branded and private label companies. Major players seek to position their products on the basis of value addition, functionality, price premium and to a certain extent packaging. Polish consumers increasingly expect high-quality cosmetics at relatively low prices. That is the main reason why the examination of used pricing strategies is so important and taken under deep consideration in this article. The results showed that dominant strategies are: penetration pricing, loss leader, price leadership, psychological pricing as well as bundling and quantity discounts strategy.

W artykule w układzie macierzowym zbadano przewidywane rezultaty wzajemnego oddziaływania na siebie czynników kontrolowanych oraz niekontrolowanych przez Polski Koncern Mięsny Duda SA. W ten sposób określono pozycję rynkową trzech jednostek strategicznych analizowanego przedsiębiorstwa na tle krajowego rynku mięsnego. W tym celu przeprowadzono analizę z wykorzystaniem macierzy BCG, która jest niezbędna do oceny portfela działalności gospodarczej składowych jednostki i wyboru ich dalszego rozwoju. Do analizy wykorzystano dane wtórne w postaci danych finansowych spółki za okres 2010-2011.
