The country of origin along with the scholar performance comprised the two criteria applied to the selected sample with the view to identifying the possible correlation between pupils grades and their families, socioeducational profile under these two parameters 30 focused interviews were conducted whereas the whole approach was partially based on the biographical method. The content analysis that followed reconstructed the interviewees argument on issues related with their identity and self awareness, their social interaction, their personal agenda, the handling of their identity and diversity is highlighted across all interviews and interviewees reverted to this subject again and again either explicitly when they were asked or implicitly through other questions. We describe our experiences in the framework of Block-Magic an EU funded international research project. In particular, we present the first prototype of Block Magic learning/teaching environment in which children and teachers interact with Logic Blocks enriched with RFID sensors and an Adaptive Tutoring System that support (enhance) learning/teaching process. Moreover, we provide a trials description which are currently performed in Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain.

This investigation provides a very useful insight on whether teachers and students of primary and secondary education have the same understanding when it comes to identifying and dealing with diversity in their educational environment. This analysis, in combination with the respective research from the other participating countries, assist project partners in the identification of a common approach to address the issue of diversity management and the subsequent development of a common training course with significant added value for all countries, irrespectively of their differences.

To this end there will be presented certain examples of good practice, which map all the necessary steps, the difficulties and the effort demanded to accomplish such a project in rural areas, taking into consideration the numerous technical and human constrains, identifying how these difficulties were overcome and how all involved persons went the extra mile. Additionally there will be demonstrated the approach adopted, so as to ensure the sustainability of social networking tools within school community, the emerging scenarios of use, and the gradual familiarization of users, with the view to facilitating them in becoming independent users and thus transforming them to change agents in the rural community they live.

All e-Learning scenarios have taken into consideration the diverse cultural and educational backgrounds of the school environments they would be implemented in.
