Social networks are profoundly transforming the way customers use the web and thus challenging SME business practices. Although the social media provide affordable channels for marketing and are thus appropriate tools for firms with limited resources, some SMEs and entrepreneurs still question their credibility and sustainability. Based on seven semi-structured interviews with web marketing consultants, an online survey with 104 owner-managers of tourism SMEs, and a netnographic study, this research analyses the place of social media in SMEs. It describes their practices, shows that SMEs underuse these tools, and proposes some managerial recommendations to small business owner-managers.

Our purpose is to identify the extent to which the accountant can be commissioned to provide information system-related advice to owner-managers. CPAs, especially in very small enterprises (VSEs), often lack skills and time to provide such type of advice. This exploratory research, adopting a qualitative methodology, is based on twenty-two semistructured interviews conducted with microfirm owner-managers and CPAs. We performed a double thematic discourse analysis on collected data: A lexical analysis via Alceste software and a manual analysis through matrices, in order to cross the perceptions and discourses of both actors. The results of this research can be divided into two parts. Software analysis identifies three classes in each actor's discourse, and a link can be identified between the discourses' topics and the skills levels in information systems (IS) and management of microfirm owner-managers, and the IS skill level of the CPAs. Manual analyzes support these findings and explore the perceptions of both types of actors. The results provide a better understanding of the relationships between microfirm owner-managers and CPAs and highlight the key issues affecting these relationships.

Drawing from the assessment that (1) this expert has got the skills to give advice regarding IS to the manager, and that (2) the latter often lacks skills and time to look after it, the departure point of this research aims at observing in what extent the CPA intervenes in VSEs in this domain. This research is forecasted in two steps, the first one, exploratory and qualitative, aims at establishing the assessments and identifying the research avenues, which will be validated in step two, confirmatory and quantitative. At this stage of our research, 15 semi- structured interviews have been conducted among managers and CPAs. One of the first results corresponds to a discrepancy of perception between managers and CPAs about their role. Results also show a poor managers' awareness about the interests of using the advice...

We developed a research model by adopting the protection motivation theory (PMT) to investigate the effect of threat and coping appraisal on protective actions. We conducted a questionnaire-based survey with SMB CEOs. Prior studies using PMT have never been focused on SMB CEOs behavior, and we postulate that in SMBs where there is no CIO or even IT people, CEO's actions are of utmost importance for achieving a satisfying ISS.
