This study focuses on the selection of optimum classification algorithms, as an automated variety identifier suitable for wheat grains based on the statistical performance indices for the quality analysis and variety classification of wheat grains. NIRS was used to non-destructively determine protein, carbohydrate, ash and moisture content of wheat grains. Structural analysis focuses on the visualization aspect of the wheat grains such as the shape, size (learnt from the length, width, and height), colour and glossiness of the seed coat. In addition to the spectral information, the image derived characteristics are incorporated into the classification models to further enhance the variety identification of 10 varieties of whole wheat samples UP 262, Samba, RR 21, 343, Super sitwa, Punjab, Ankurkedar, Super 303, Pusa 360, PBW ...

This work performs the segmentation of natural color images in CIELab space based on the Possibilistic fuzzy c means clustering (PFCM).The basic principle of the proposed approach is the segmentation of natural color images based on the two-way approach of hill climbing (HC) and PFCM. In this work, RGB image is transformed into CIELab space for the efficient extraction of the secreted treasure in the images. The combined approach of local optimization search technique, HC and PFCM is applied for the segmentation of synthetic fiber images. This color histogram based technique works on the principle of identification of peaks in the color histogram of the natural color image. The identified peaks are considered as initial seed or clusters. These seeds are then applied to the PFCM to perform the final segmentation. Westernization of today’s society has led to the increase in the number of small families while t... more Westernization of today’s society has led to the increase in the number of small families while the gradual spread of living into the suburban areas has raised a significant concern in the security of the individuals. Although there are many security systems available in the market today, they are mostly expensive. The objective of the model described in this paper is to present a simple and low-cost design to make our homes smarter and safer. The Raspberry pi based framework built in this project comprises of PIR sensor, IR sensor, Piezoelectric sensor and Sound sensor which not only alerts an intruder action but also captures the images and recordings through a camera from the scene. An intrusion can be identified with the help of the above mentioned sensors that can detect the presence of a person, temperature variations and sound at the location. In case of a deviant output from the above measurements, the owner of the house is immediately alerted through IoT. The rightful person receives a message on his phone immediately followed by images of the person causing the sceptical situation along with a captured video that gives a detailed picture of the happenings and will also serve as an evidence for further investigations.

NIR is gaining popularity in food industry as an analysis toll. The energy of infrared light may ... more NIR is gaining popularity in food industry as an analysis toll. The energy of infrared light may not be sufficient to induce transitions of valence electrons, instead, excites vibration and rotational motions in molecules. NIR spectra contains information about all the molecules containing hydrogen thereby enabling a humungous scope of organic compound analysis. NIRS is a non-destructive practical method with reliable reproducibility in results that can replace expensive, time-consuming and labor intensive methods that are in practice for customary validation in food industry. NIRS can be used efficiently for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of a component with little or no sample preparation. Its reliability has benchmarked a spot in food industries where the quality profile of ingredients employed like fat, moisture and protein to name a few, is critical. To decode a complex NIR spectra, consisting of many overlapping peaks, chemometric models were employed. The models were developed using carefully selected and representative samples which were analyzed by a standard reference analytical method. The spectral region contributing to the absorbance of NIR illustrates the presence of a specific functional groups, sometimes more than one wavelength region would contribute to a particular component. These are referred to as the fingerprint region of that particular component. Identifying the fingerprint region is the first step towards quantification of the components present in the sample. Wheat is an chief winter crop in the world. It is essential to understand the quality of wheat and segregate it based on its key components for different applications, this ensures an accomplished final product. Wheat key ingredients such as moisture, starch and protein were marked out from NIR Spectrum by identifying the corresponding functional group peak absorption values. This happens to be the first step towards building a prediction model.

This emerges with mild stiffness and later ends up with joint immobility. X-rays are the most commonly used means of visualizing the joint, but at times ultrasound and MRI are also used. The methods can be classified into invasive methods and non-invasive methods. Invasive methods are generally done through image studies which do not furnish information regarding the early disorders in bone joints and on the other hand study procedures are painful to the subjects. This work deals with a non-invasive method of early diagnosis of bone disorders. The VAG signals acquired on the surface of the suspicious bone joint are analysed using LabVIEW software which yields information regarding the bone disorders. The study can be extended for early diagnosis of bone disorders.

There are cases like during a surgery or Post operative progress when these vitals should be monitored continuously to ensure the coping of the patient. There are medical procedures that produce accurate results, but the only disadvantage is that they are invasive thereby comes with a pain factor. This non invasive method is based on the working principle of pulse oximeter and combining the principle of glucose meter called the OGH monitor that computes oxygen saturation, glucose and heart beat of an individual without actually depending upon the parameters such as blood samples, urine samples. This meter is based on the principle of differential absorption of light which is considered as the input parameter to produce three different parameters such as percentage of oxygen saturation, glucose and heart beat rate.

Each individual's development automatically leads to social progress. Education to the visually and hearing impaired is no exception to the above statement. The current education system has not completely evolved to cater to the special needs of the visually and hearing-impaired students. An inclusive education system is an environment where the students with disabilities can fully participate in a classroom in equal competence with students without any disabilities. A successful inclusive education can happen only with the assistance of technology to aid the disabled students to primarily feel enabled in the peer group. The objective of this paper is to design and implement a low-cost wearable glove that will help the speechless, visually and hearing-impaired students communicate through automated sign language translational system. This system also encompasses an unassisted living aid for the disabled. The system is based on Arduino which includes flex sensors and Bluetooth.

Each year about 2 percent of motor vehicle crash deaths are motorcyclists. In a majority of motorcyclist deaths, the most serious injuries are to the head and spinal cord highlighting the importance of wearing a safety device. Airbag is a safety feature incorporated in many four wheelers. Two wheeler accidents prove fatal in most of the cases, hence an airbag has been designed for safety of the driver. This prototype model works with the combination of the sensors like Mems and Ultrasonic sensors which takes the fall detection signal with angular position of 45 degree or less and an obstruction as close as 3cm respectively will trigger to inflate the air bag that can be easily fitted into the riders jacket.

India is the second largely populated country in the world, with one in three Indian households o... more India is the second largely populated country in the world, with one in three Indian households owning a two-wheeler. Two-wheeler sales in India reaching an all-time high in the year 2019, reinforces that this is the most favored mode of road transport. With elite and extravagant motor bikes taking over the market today, the safety of these automobiles is to be greatly improved. This paper presents a vehicle security device using technologies such as GPS and GSM. In addition to the accident alert, any perceptible movement of the bike is also monitored and alerted. Unauthenticated handling of the bike activates the GSM present in the bike that sends a user notification. The bike’s power transmission can be turned off with owner discretion. The bike’s location can also be learnt through the GPS thereby helping the retrieval of the same. A complete control system using mobile phone wherein the original key will also fail to start ignition is the significance of this design.
