This text dealing with Quality and value in the interpretation of music from a phenomenological p... more This text dealing with Quality and value in the interpretation of music from a phenomenological point of view is a revised version of a lecture given at Norges Musikkhøgskole (The Norwegian State Academy of Music) in Oslo in May 2000. It was then part of a seminar under the doctoral programme of this institution. I still call it a draft because I hope to get the opportunity to go much further into the huge problem of quality and value as related to music and music interpretation, an issue that is also of the greatest importance to music education.
