Background: Socioeconomic background has traditionally been the most important determinant of an ... more Background: Socioeconomic background has traditionally been the most important determinant of an individual’s social advantage. Studies have used social class and opportunities based on parental income and education to predict such advantage. There is limited evidence that stratification mechanisms other than socioeconomic background can play an important role. The purpose of the study is to examine the influence of the traditional factors (income and education) of family background on students’ social attachment styles compared to other background variables (civil status and number of children). Methods: We used the Vulnerable Attachment Style Questionnaire as an outcome measure to assess students’ social attachment advantage. As a point of departure, we use theories of social psychology to categorize social relations in terms of secure or insecure bonding, respectively. Conclusions: if students at vocational schools are to opt out unhealthy snacks and replace them w... more Conclusions: if students at vocational schools are to opt out unhealthy snacks and replace them with healthy alternatives, consideration should be given both to increase the exposure of healthy snacks and simultaneously undertake similar actions in the unhealthy snacks, for example by removing them or placing them less visibly in the canteen. Rethinking choice dynamics in self service food layouts through easy to implement minor changes seems to be able to change uptake of healthy options. More research is needed to explore effects and potentials of changing food choice architectures.

Pricing strategies are considered to be one of the important options in changing consumer food be... more Pricing strategies are considered to be one of the important options in changing consumer food behaviour. As a result, there is a growing interest in studying the effects of interventions that promotes the healthy choice through price interventions. This paper aims to examine the effect of a pricing intervention on fruit & vegetables (F&V) in supermarkets. The intervention consisted of a removal of the 20% VAT Data on F&V sale and retailer – revenue was collected pre- and post-intervention in all chain-supermarkets. Users of ecological and conventional fruit and vegetables constituting our intervention group and the control group is users of ecological and conventional dairy products. We found a beneficial impact of the intervention on the sale and revenue related to fruit and vegetable products. The revenue and sale of fruit and vegetables increased by 354 952.60 DKK (24.92%) and 65 065.16 units (32.92%) respectively. Results suggest a beneficial impact on the sale and revenue rela...
