Proven in multiple clinical studies, Aloe vera has been used in antimicrobial activity and used in mouth ulcers, periodontal diseases etc. In this present study Mucoadhesive film was prepared to study antimicrobial activity, to improve therapeutic efficacy by its adhesive action. The present study discusses the estimation of the antimicrobial activity of Aloe vera loaded mucoadhesive films. The formulation was studied for percent inhibition of microorganism of inflammed tissue, Calculas, and cultures of S.oralis, C.albicans, S.mutans. The formulation showed Percent inhibition of Candida albicans more when compared with standard Chlorhexidine. The film prepared is economic, convenient and shows the antimicrobial activity.

Aloe vera has been used in dentistry for its wound-healing effects, gingivitis, plaque control, curing oral mucosal lesions and periodontal activity. Aloe vera may also reduce the pain and duration of oral ulcers while speeding healing. Products of the plant are used in the treatment of various ailments. A periodontal disease is an oral infection. With the increasing incidence of periodontal diseases and development of antibiotic resistance, the alternative, safe, effective, and economical products is the need of the time. Aloe vera is a medicinal plant which has the greater medicinal value and enormous properties for curing and preventing oral diseases like Periodontitis, gingivitis, mouth ulcers etc. An attempt has been made to review the periodontal activity of Aloe Vera.

Herbal system is considered as a complimentary and alternative system of medicines plays a significant role in India. Resins being the natural products are the secondary metabolites which have therapeutic actions in humans and which can be refined to produce the drugs. Humans have been using plant resins for thousands of years. Because wide use of resins they are collected by artificial injury to plants though they are secreted by plants in response to protect the plant. Resin is a viscous compound hardens over time but softens on melting and does not react with water. This unique property makes the resins as a choice in preparing many excipients in the pharmaceutical dosage forms and even for preparing sustained release medicament formulation. The softer odoriferous oleo-resins and gum resins containing essential oils are more largely used for therapeutic purposes and incense. Thus resins play immense role in today's pharmaceuticals.

It is a unique liquid dosage form that contains self generated alcohol, often referred as medicated wine. This self generated alcohol is produced by method of fermentation. Asavarishtas are manufactured by industries in batch size of thousand liters. Larger batch sizes of process specific products for high technology are the need of the time. The large scale industrial fermentation must produce high yields of product at least possible expenses and the recovery of product must be more. Thus the research is required to adapt the fermentation to existing types of fermentation equipment and to increase the yield of product. As self generated alcohol content should not exceed 11 % v/v the fermentation process should be at a controlled rate and should be monitored precisely. Many times contamination by microorganisms during process of fermentation takes place if proper care is not taken during fermentation which is hazardou...

The ethno botanical pharmacology is old and passes from ancient time. The important of plants medicines are they do not shows side effects as such of chemical molecules. Present paper focus on one of the important Indian plant which shows no. of pharmacological activity i.e. Calotropis procera. Its phytochemical and pharmacological properties are described. The use of the plants, plant extracts, and pure compounds isolated from natural sources has always provided a foundation for modern pharmaceutical compounds. Another variety of plant is Calotropis gignata which also shows pharmacological properties.

Flemingia strobilifera (Lam.) is used as herb in Ayurvedic medicine since ancient time. Flemingia strobilifera (Palas) belongs to the family Fabaceae, grown wildly in many parts of India. The plant is used highly by the countryside and ethnic people in curing various disorders. Flemingia strobilifera has an effective natural origin that has a tremendous future for research. The novelty and applicability of Flemingia strobilifera are hidden. Such things can be removed through modern research. The present article describes various traditional and medicinal utility of the plant and an attempt was made to gather information about the chemical composition of the plant or its species and/or its constituents.

Medicinal plants have played a key role in world health. There is a growing focus on the importance of medicinal plants in the traditional he alth care system (viz. Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Yoga) in solving health care problems. Systematic approach and well - designed methodologies for the standardization of herbal raw materials and herbal formulations are developed. In view of the growing in terest in herbal medicines, methods for standardization of herbal drugs are developed and used in different formulation.

It is very important to evaluate and quantify the bitter taste of drug and masking effects of taste masking agents used in formulation. Ondansetron was studied as model bitter drug. Insent Taste Sensing system was used to assess the bitterness of drug, taste masking potential of Neotame and its comparison to human sensory taste panel. Bitterness sensor specially designed by Insent for Ondansetron was used to measure its bitterness. Ondanse tron solutions showed linear response to this sensor in range of 0.008 mM to 0.164 mM. Bitterness of Quinine hydrochloride solution was compared with Ondansetron solutions and sensor response indicated 0.01mM of Ondansetron corresponds to 0.1mM of Quinine hydrochloride. Quinine as standard bitter drug was taste evaluated in the concentration of 0.013 mM to 0.1 mM using human sensory panel and bitterness score was assigned. The concentration in the range of 0.045 mM to 0.1 mM corresponding to Bitterness score 4, 5, and 6 was evaluated with different Neotame concentrations (0.001 to 0.0003 mM). Suitability of Neotame as taste masking agent for Ondansetron was evaluated and it was observed that it reduces bitterness intensity measured as Change in Membrane Potential (CPA values) due to adsorption perceived as "After taste" from 22.47 mv to 16.54 mv.
