The systemic reactions to surgical injury encompass a wide range of endocrinological, immunological and haematological effects. The ability of anaesthetic agents modifies the endocrine and metabolic responses have been studied enthusiastically. This research describes the endocrine and metabolic changes which occur during different types of surgical techniques, effects of anaesthetic and analgesic regimens to modify their responses. OBJECTIVES: The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of stress response on blood glucose levels and hemodynamics in patients undergoing open Laparotomy surgeries v/s laparoscopic surgeries. METHODS: Sixty surgical patients were enrolled in this clinical trial. The pulse, BP records were taken and blood sugar levels were tested peri-operatively. RESULTS: The results were analyzed and found that raise pulse rate, blood pressure and blood sugar ...

The study revealed that age-wise respondents were uniformly distributed among all age groups and out of which 17.5 per cent respondents were graduates. Only 9.2 per cent of the farmers belonged to high level knowledge category before training whereas after training 60.0 per cent (P<0.01) of farmers possessed high level knowledge. The awareness perceived by farmers about breeding, feeding and management was significantly (P<0.05) higher after training. About 5.2 ± 0.18 and 13.0 ± 0.16 responses of farmers were found correct pre training and post training, respectively. Therefore, from present study it may be concluded that specialized training is an effective tool to improve the knowledge and understanding of farmers about dairy farming.

It should be distinguished from other lesions which can occur in newborns, both clinically and histopathologically. CASE DETAILS: Here, we report a case of congenital epulis in a newborn female on the right alveolar ridge, along with an extensive review of literature and discuss the immunoprofiling. CONCLUSION: Early diagnosis of CE in a newborn is of paramount importance in the successful management of these rare cases.
